Well thanks for that. Maybe it suggests that the chances of them entering service is improving.. Maybe set 10 will appear one day. Thanks - will be 03 and 04 working together in multiple.

Been a few times in the past days, it was expected down from NAStill sat at Aycliffe undergoing static testing.
2 x Cancelled paths. Both times I've seen it after those cancelled paths it has been coupled up to another unit with lots of activity in cabs of each unit.Been a few times in the past days, it was expected down from NA
Is it still 810010 on the overnight ECML test runs this week?Still sat at Aycliffe undergoing static testing.
I'd say it's designed to waste money on loads of plastic stickers that will do nothing but add to cleaning costs and the quantity of plastic in landfill. Here's a photo of one of the floor vinyls saying "coming soon", the "oo" in soon being a pair of headlights. EMR state that it's "Banksy style" artwork is designed to generate curiosity on the soon-to-enter-service Class 810s
That suggests that they're having difficulty in getting the units to reliably speak to each other.2 x Cancelled paths. Both times I've seen it after those cancelled paths it has been coupled up to another unit with lots of activity in cabs of each unit.
Ah, a push me, pull you set. That suggests that they're having difficulty in getting the units to reliably speak to each other.
Yes, saw it at Doncaster this morning around 545. Followed by the Caledonian sleeper! Is it still 810010 on the overnight ECML test runs this week?
Thanks
It's showing on the maps waiting to depart Merchant Park.Another attempt today? 0828 Merchant Park Sidings to Derby Etches Park

Sheffield is also covered in them. They look like discarded flyers that have been dropped and then blown around the place and not been cleaned up.Lots of "Coming soon Aurora" messages have appeared on the platforms at Nottingham when I walked through this morning.
"We are pleased to share that East Midlands Railway (EMR) and our parent company, Transport UK, have confirmed that the first of EMR’s brand-new Aurora trains will enter service this December.
Built by Hitachi Rail, the 33 state-of-the-art bi-mode trains will take advantage of the £1.5 billion Midland Main Line upgrade, with the ability to run on electric overhead lines - dramatically cutting carbon emissions by 66%, and delivering quieter, greener journeys for customers.
Each Aurora will provide:
Once the full fleet of 33 trains is in service, it will deliver a substantial 46% increase in the total number of seats available for customers travelling on the Midland Main Line.
- 24% more seats and 19% more legroom (in a five-carriage formation)
- Plug sockets and USB points at every seat
- Free, class-leading Wi-Fi and improved mobile signal strength through new glass technology
- Modern, spacious interiors with improved lighting and accessible design
- Increased luggage space (up to 136% more capacity)
The introduction of this £400 million fleet marks a major milestone for Intercity travel across the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and Greater Lincolnshire.
We, along with our colleagues at Transport UK, are delighted to be delivering a railway that our customers, communities and employees can truly take pride in."
"We wanted to share this exciting news with you and will provide more information about the Aurora launch in due course."
Just passed Rotherham looking quite shiny. Photo later when I get home! It's showing on the maps waiting to depart Merchant Park.
Has the 25th of November run been dropped? Or still planned but no fanfare so as not to attract negative comments if it doesn't manage to run?Message to EMR Stakeholders this morning, Aurora into service in December
There would still be a significant increase as a 10-car 810 has 602 seats, compared to around 470 on a 2+8 HST.I wonder how that 46% increase in seats would look if compared against the number prior to the HSTs being withdrawn?
The 46% is overall capacity increase across the fleet. Which presumably lost quite a lot of capacity when the HSTs were withdrawn. There would still be a significant increase as a 10-car 810 has 602 seats, compared to around 470 on a 2+8 HST.

Good point!Worth remembering that it should be the 810+360 6tph capacity compared with the old 222+HST 5tph capacity.
Somewhat cheekily they look to comparing the current situation with the first 222 already gone. I make it 39% if you include that additional 7-car set.The 46% is overall capacity increase across the fleet. Which presumably lost quite a lot of capacity when the HSTs were withdrawn.
It would be weird for that to have changed so quickly. Does anyone know?Has the 25th of November run been dropped? Or still planned but no fanfare so as not to attract negative comments if it doesn't manage to run?
Yes it’s 810 003 & I think 810 004 ( Didn’t quite catch the set number on the first set). Sorry the picture isn't great but that’s it arriving into Chetserfield.Presume 5Q42 heading from Chesterfield towards Leicester is another 810 set, on training.
Well, you got more than I did when it flew under the A6 at Duffield. I'm sure someone will confirm the lead unit.Yes it’s 810 003 & I think 810 004 ( Didn’t quite catch the set number on the first set). Sorry the picture isn't great but that’s it arriving into Chetserfield.
