It's the same route as 175003 so it should be under it's own power planned as maximum 100mph. Let's hope it is more than one unit. How many could come; 2,3, 4? If it does happen then I could see a HST diagram gone before the timetable change.

Dawlish cams 1606 is where I shall try to catch it.

Routed via Castle Cary instead this time, went around Bath last time. I'll see if I can spot it anywhere along the route, but it's a bit of a trip from Wales to anywhere along its route!

Could well be round two for 175010 (the unit which previously made it to Leicester and reportedly had axle issues).

Wondering if there's a reason why most of the Eastbound runs reverse at Newton Abbot rather than Exeter.
If Exeter is to be their main terminating station, then they would training run all the way through surely?

It's traction training not route learning, so why would they need to run through?

Presumably most of the training is how a 175 works and what’s different about it - the crews already know the route. The Exeter - Newton Abbot section is busier - and the section beyond to Plymouth has all the challenging hills!

There is engineering works in Exeter area, with some trains reversing there. So probably didn't want to add extra trains at Exeter

There is an opposite working back to Wolverton planned for tomorrow which suggests a 150 overhaul swap.

150232 has been in Wolverton for over 4 months, so it could just about be finished by now? That said, 5V84 has not yet departed Wolverton so it remains to be seen.

Also i assume newton abbot - exeter is a busier stretch of line with the paigton services.

Sundays move was quoted elsewhere as 150232 which failed at Northampton and returned to Wolverton. Consequently Mondays 5H71 was cancelled. Tomorrows move to Laira does look to be a genuine 175 move rather than a second attempt for 150232, but I could be wrong.

It could be a 175 however it has the same headcode that 150232s attempt had, although that might not mean anything.
