North Riding
North Riding 80 (Rasklef - Linton - York - York College)
Timetable revised for punctuality and reliability.
On college days, college journeys will now terminate at Askham Bar Tesco for York College.
An oversight to be sure.I understand that it may not be deemed viable to run this link year-round, but not outlining that in service changes is really poor. Tracking data on bustimes for today also shows that buses are now starting/ending in Linton-On-Ouse instead of Raskelf.
When East Yorkshire took over the service in April 2024, they said the Raskelf service would continue to run throughout the school holidays, it just wouldn't serve York College and Askham Bryan. In school hols, don't they terminate in Linton? Just checked bus times, getdown (who haven't picked up on the Sch/SH distinction) and NYC and they're all showing Linton as the start/finish.
The first journey, Monday to Friday, from Raskelf will start at 0700 and run through York College. It will begin at Raskelf and 0700 on non-college days but terminate at York Station Road.
The 1630 journey from York College to Raskelf will operate all year round, but on non-college days, it will start at 1700 from York Railway Station. This will provide commute options for Helperby, Tholthorpe, Flawith, and Aldwark all year round.
Sorry - I think you may have misunderstood. I was referring to your comment on the tracking on bus times that "buses are now starting/ending in Linton-On-Ouse instead of Raskelf." That would be the case anyway until the evening run? When East Yorkshire took over the service in April 2024, they said the Raskelf service would continue to run throughout the school holidays, it just wouldn't serve York College and Askham Bryan.
I somehow doubt that there were many (any) people in the four months of operation who fancied braving the commute with a load of college students, which is why they made the change. They should've mentioned it - smacks of an oversight rather than anything more sinister.Goodbye to year-round commuting options from Helperby, Tholthorpe, Flawith and Aldwark using the bus then!
Ah sorry, I was referring to the morning service only starting in Linton, instead of Raskelf.Sorry - I think you may have misunderstood. Oh I don't think it's anything sinister, I just find it really poor that it's not mentioned. I've already said that I understand the link isn't viable, after all, for years there hasn't been a year-round link, but it really should've been outlined by East Yorkshire! They should've mentioned it - smacks of an oversight rather than anything more sinister.
A shame they've gone for Electroliners with their teeny tiny upstairs windowsHere is one of the new electrics in this post, like the colour tbh

My memory might have got this wrong, but I think it's the 56/57/58.Do we know know which routes these will be working?
51, 56, 57 and 58 once all 27 have arrivedDo we know know which routes these will be working?
Will any of them be route number branded for these routes?51, 56, 57 and 58 once all 27 have arrived
Perhaps they knew from experience that nobody was getting on in the holidays so nobody would be inconvenienced by not knowing about the change!Ah sorry, I was referring to the morning service only starting in Linton, instead of Raskelf.

CheersMy memory might have got this wrong, but I think it's the 56/57/58.
That's the point. There were a few workers that did. Probably not any more though.Perhaps they knew from experience that nobody was getting on in the holidays so nobody would be inconvenienced by not knowing about the change!
Sorry I haven't heard anything either way as to whether they will be or notWill any of them be route number branded for these routes?
Could say the same about the few students who used the 80 to Askham Bryan, but EY mentioned in the service changes post that the 80 would no longer serve the College. It doesn't excuse EY not mentioning however!Perhaps they knew from experience that nobody was getting on in the holidays so nobody would be inconvenienced by not knowing about the change!
I believe today should've been the last day, coinciding with the end of the school holidays.I see today, service 13 has ended for the winter, leaving tourists waiting at bus stops, and big camp site departure day tomorrow. 2 days two early it looks like, bit of a mess up by eyms it would seem.
That would have been the sensible thing to do, but the North Yorkshire Council notice gives 2 November as the start of the winter timetable.I believe today should've been the last day, coinciding with the end of the school holidays.
I stand corrected on my original comment, EY published the following for April service changes:That would have been the sensible thing to do, but the North Yorkshire Council notice gives 2 November as the start of the winter timetable.
Unfortunately East Yorkshire appear to have mucked up the registration, as both their website and bustimes show the summer timetable continuing indefinitely ... but no buses have tracked on the 13 today, which suggests that NYC's info is correct.
From Saturday 5th April
Service 13 will commence operation on Saturday 5th April between Scarborough and Bridlington via the Holiday camps and Filey until Saturday 1st November.
The reason for that is the working week at EY for local drivers goes from Sunday to SaturdayThat would have been the sensible thing to do, but the North Yorkshire Council notice gives 2 November as the start of the winter timetable.
