I'm not entirely sure to be honest, I do recall them saying that we would have to do the VSE again at stage 2 but she did not mention it in the email. Maybe it will add a (not) nice surprise

My assessment is on the 6th of October, not sure if they're having two different groups on two different days again or if it will just be one group on one day this time.

Ah yeah, I suppose that saves the suspense. If you don't mind me asking, what TOC did you do that with?

Unfortunately despite leaving in good time I got stuck in traffic and was unable to attend the assessment in a timely manner. I explained the situation to the OPC whilst I was stuck and emailed them. They said they will reach out to me as soon as possible to get it rearranged. Not too sure when that will be. Really quite annoyed as I prepared a lot for it and fancied my chances, but it is what it is.

Definitely getting a Travelodge the night before next time (hopefully).

I attended the OPC back in June for the Arriva Trainee Driver Role - passed all to enhanced but the bourdon ( passed to standard ). If I’m successful in these 4 tests do I jump straight to MMI?

Nah you’ll still have to do all the stage 2 tests as well and im pretty sure ARL do TRP 1&2 on stage 2 but GTS do it on stage 1 so you may also have to do that

Also don’t you have to wait 6 months / 1 year before you can redo any OPC tests? I applied for ARL NXG and passed the ARL online test but seems OPC haven’t moved foward with me as it’s too soon since my last assessment day and haven’t sent a VSE

Originally applied 26/08. On the 1/10 received an email stating ‘high level of interest’, want to ensure all applicants understand this a difficult role’ etc etc. On 15/10 received an email from OPC stating ‘GTS invites you to complete the following tests ( listed above )’.

I emailed them and they mentioned these are GTS specific so won't affect applying to any other TOC. It will only have an effect if an exam that is used in both TOC is failed.

In total it takes around 40 minutes. First part is fairly straight forward since you only have to concentrate on where the train is moving around the track and you have quite a bit of time between movements, so it's relatively easy, I didn't make any mistakes on that part (I think). Obviously easier said than done, but it's quite important not to get flustered if you make a mistake or else you'll just end up spiraling. Best of luck if you are completing it soon

You ended up receiving your results mate or any update on your application moving forward? I finally got a feedback call from the OPC regarding my assessment day results with GTS and it turns out I passed everything to enhanced apart from TRP1 which I passed to standard national level. So just hoping I have a shot at the current ARL campaign and can complete any remaining tests with them.
