Just wanted to check. After the stage 5 final interview, I received an email saying I have been successful at the interview and have been placed on their RESERVE LIST. Does this list differ from Talent Pool or are they the same thing? This is at Exeter St Davids. Thanks in advance!

It’s the same thing, I checked my email from when I passed the interview and it says reserve list too

Congrats, I wonder if you’ll get to the training school before me as I applied in March this year but passed my DMI 2 months ago. Wonder how these things work sometimes lol

I've no idea, I did mine less than two weeks ago. I don't know if internals go through first or the people who score the highest in the interview. I applied in February. Which station did you apply for?

I've got through everything for a temple meads based spot and they've told me positions are allocated based on who passed the dmi first, not test scores.

Ahh OK I'll probably be waiting about 1-2 years then which is what I expected when I first applied. I'm just so glad I got through. Doesn't take away the eagerness to start though!

Yes I was told in the interview that if I got through (which I did thankfully) it'd be likely 26/27 with a very slight chance of this year.

I passed mine back in June and just got told I’m on the reserve list.

There are no more stages! Just have to wait for the call to arms and pass the medical and then we’re on!

That’s 4 confirmed people now put on the reserve list on that day for Swansea! They did say they had a lot of roles to fill soon so there’s probably even more! Just hope we get on the January intake.

Well done all of you for Swansea. I've actually just got my DMI booked for the 15th in Swansea, so hopefully I'll be joining you all.

Any pointers or advice for the day would be invaluable

Hi, just noticed the trainee advert back online yesterday. I’ve messaged them regarding relocation applications but not had a response as of yet. I was looking to relocate to Bristol - On the off-chance anyone has had experience on this in the past - question - does anyone know if First/GWR accept relocation applications or would I be automatically rejected? Obviously my current address doesn’t meet the criteria of 1 hour to depot - Thanks in advance

Had my DMI almost 2 weeks ago and when asked they said that for Parkway courses November was full and they were of the understanding that the February course was also full.

Still yet to hear if I was successful in my DMI but can’t imagine there will be any courses until the middle of 2026 towards the start of 2027.
