Just got a conditional offer! My scenario was pretty hectic. Train delayed 20 mins and next one was coming in 5, platform was busy as people were congregating near stairs/escalator and screens but other end of the platform was empty. Then someone dropped a hot drink on another passenger and a they started getting rowdy with each other. Spent the whole time talking about the scenario as there was so much going on, they didn’t have time to ask my about myself or my current role but I managed to slide it in there. All in all it was abit hectic, I have seen some easier scenarios on here but I guess I handled it well enough to get the role!
I got the same scenario in my SBI. How did you deal with it?

I said my first priority was ensuring the floor was safe and if not I would call for someone to bring a wet floor sign as I can’t leave the area due to the commotion. Then I would make sure the person who the drink spilt on doesn’t require medical attention. Then I would try to separate the two arguing without touching anyone but just try to guide them away from each other to de escalate the situation. I would try to clear the area and let passengers know the other end of the platform is clear and that the train is in a few mins so they bc an move away from the screen and down the other end. I’d try to calm the rowdy ones down and maybe let one on the first train and keep the other chatting until the next train comes. I also said I understand that there’s a lot going on so I wouldn’t hesitate to radio for help for colleagues or supervisors to handle one thing while I handle another

How did it go for you?

I've only just done it recently, so I'm still waiting to hear back. I think I did OK, but I was largely running on nervous energy :P

I did it slightly differently. First of all, I asked people to move down the platform to ease congestion via the tannoy, as that will usually ease that particular problem fairly quickly. Then, I moved on to the fight. First of all, I informed station security that there may be a situation that needs dealing with, just in case it escalated. I then cordoned off the area with the spillage, and made sure the customer with hot coffee on them wasn't in need of medical attention, while also separating the customers, and asking people not to film, as it was exacerbating the situation. I also called the cleaner to deal with the spillage, as there was a lot going on. Like you, I explained that there was too much for one person to deal with, and teamwork was key.

I think you should be okay to be fair! Sounds all good

Let me know how it goes :)

Cheers for that. Tbf, saying all this at 100mph because I was running on nerves might have counted against me, but I answered all the questions and think I made sense, so fingers crossed. I'll let you know though :)

Lots of issues with uniform since they changed suppliers etc
The issues are more longstanding than that.

So what uniform are you getting at the moment
Whatever is available. The ‘new’ uniform (it has been pointed out several times that it is at best a refresh, it’s not new) was always intended to replace old stock as it was used up, rather than be a ‘big bang’ roll out. Because of some of the historical issues with uniform supply this isn’t as straightforward as it might otherwise have been, and of course also depends on what size an individual is - you’re more likely to get the refreshed look if you take a more common size.

These issues aren’t new - when I joined in 2015 just as the current uniform was rolling out it was much the same story!

I’ve received no uniform…
When I went for live learning I got a polo, hi vi and shoes (thankfully my station had them!) I’ve had to buy my own cargo trousers and I’m going to have to nab more polos from my station (ill fitting though which is frustrating). I’ve got no coat, no nothing. Just extremely fortunate I know someone who has given me some fleeces.

Very big issue!

Hi all, was hoping I could gather some clarity from you guys.

Sent off my REED screening onboarding documents (and everything they’ve required from me) however my references that I’ve included are not responding to their emails even after me chasing them up with it. REED has then asked me to provide alternate email addresses but even then the referees aren’t responding to their reference requests they were sent (they were sent up to 6 reminders).
REED has asked for self-employment proof for one of my positions (which I’ve sent off) but the other was “volunteering” and they’re still requiring a referee response for that (still no response after 6 reminders).

My DBS check has come back all successful but I’m not sure what to do now as there’s nothing in my power to get the referees to respond to the reference requests.

Im just sat waiting, could anyone shed some light on potential solutions or what I could maybe try?

Many thanks.

What kind of proof do they require for self-employment?

Hi, Does anyone know if TFL decides on whether you get the CSA2 postition based on the Scenario based interview alone or the results of all the stages?

I felt like I messed up during my SBI as I kept stuttering however I believe I've said all the points that needed to be mentioned.

All of the results are taken into account in some form or another.

There’s nothing wrong with being nervous and stuttering - in many ways it’s expected! A lot of people are nervous in these situations and the recruitment teams will account for it - just make sure that all of what you’re saying is answering the questions.

Fingers crossed for you!

I have no idea what they will looking by MAP reading or how I can prepare myself. Also what they will looking into Grammer mistake or punctuation....Can someone help me please. Thanks... just need some form of idea to prepare myself. Thanks

It's fairly straightforward. Simple spelling, grammar and punctuation check for the first test, and if you just learn the tube map (ie. What colour each line is, and just familiarise yourself a bit), you should be good. The rest of it comes with instructions. There aren't any trick questions, from what I remember. Also, familiarise yourself with reading timetables (like bus timetables etc). Good luck :)
