I believe passengers were sent to Carstairs on 1M18, then transferred onto TPE 1S71 which was able to divert via Holytown into Glasgow.
When I made the original post about being stopped for flooding on the 12:30 Euston-Glasgow, I saw the 1330 was shown as being 20 minutes behind. Certainly got lucky arriving 51 minutes late to Glasgow as we were originally booked on the earlier one but made a snap decision to go an hour early. Coach travel onwards though. There were plenty of people being turned away at the hotel last night, a very rough night for many in more ways than one.

Doesn’t appear to be anything going north of Crewe along WCML

I’m at Lockerbie and I can see a 390 has been stabled in the Down loop just to the south of the station - presumably one of the sets that was unsuccessful in making the journey last night?

Airedale Line reopened now.
Yep, though everything was cancelled prior to the very last connecting train to Leeds, which was late. Can do without that kind of stress. Then there's no telling how trains to and from London will manage. We have a cat at home so we can't risk not making it home later.

Not sure if it was weather related but on arrival at Heathrow yesterday evening, there were no Elizabeth Line services beyond London Paddington, which according to airport staff had been the case for several hours.

They were taking a lot of flack from angry passengers, who had been promised trains would turn up, then they didn't and they couldn't say where it was going, despite engaging with the MTR control.

They said that TfL should have made efforts for ticket acceptance from Heathrow Express, as their services were coming in and leaving empty, as people no doubt didn't want to pay the £25 fare.

As it was, I boarded what I was told would be the last Elizabeth Line service of the evening and changed at Ealing Broadway where I got a Hainault service and got off at Liverpool St for my last train home (the 0046 to Colchester).

I'd been told there had been signalling problems, but the impression I got from some of the passengers was that this happens frequently.

Merseyrail is also struggling this morning. Northern lines affected by “multiple trees across lines”. Ormskirk bound services were turning at Town Green whilst Southport services were turning at Formby.

Think the first train of the day, empties from Crewe at 0515ish has (probably) brought wires down halfway from Winsford to Hartford (5F03 on Traksy).

It's stil there now at 11am.

Anyone know of a Voyager XC either Class 220/221 which struck tree debris yesterday and severely damaged one end, including the Drivers windscreen , photo looks like its at Coventry station but I'm not 100% sure of that location.

Many thanks in advance.

Second tree down at Brundall in as many days. A class 755 working a Great Yarmouth service this morning has suffered some damage.

And during all this chaos all around, as predicted, 4S88 made its way inexorably from Felixstowe to Coatbridge, arriving 4 mins late.
Freightliner should fit out some containers for passenger use ;)

LNER seem to be running reasonably OK south of Edinburgh, with some bus replacements north of there. I'm sure their website said earlier this morning that the 07.52 from Aberdeen (which I'm due to board at York under a slightly odd itinerary from Trainsplit whereby I have one Advance ticket from Berwick to London but save money by stepping back a train at Newcastle and York) would be cancelled _south_ of Edinburgh due to speed restrictions, but RTT indicates that it's just passed Twedmouth only 6 min late.

They put one on extra from Edinburgh W that could run there south on schedule, the one from Aberdeen has been cancelled south of Edinburgh though.

I was genuinely surprised by LNER (watched train on Railboard) left Aberdeen last night at 1818 arrived in Leeds at 0330 this morning!

I suppose the boxes are now grounded as the port cranes use gets suspended during high winds.

New one for a stormy day and minor in scheme of things but the plastic ETFE roof cushion at the top of the escalators at Reading platform 7 has I think ripped/punctured, flapping about and making a racket

RTT suggests (sorry, not sure how to do links on a phone) that it's run through from Aberdeen, arriving and departing Edinburgh only a few minutes late.

Station announcements at Newcastle were warning of speed restrictions north of Berwick; that could be wrong, but I think winds were forecast to increase again.

Very true, it's still breezy up here, but I could just hop down from the ecofret on to the cess and walk down to Sunnyside! ;)

I am sure there is a lot more human cargo transported in shipping containers than we know anything about.....!

The second Aberdeen-KGX train, 1E15, which was starting from Edinburgh anyway today (because 1W20 was terminated there yesterday as it was formed of an 801/2), currently has no platform and no unit allocated to it on RTT, so that might be the one that's cancelled.

Edit: a 5E15 has just trundled out of Craigentinny, so looks like it's running.

If it's the photo I've seen recently on other social media, it's an old photo from around this time last year. The message it coveys still holds though

Unrelated to the weather. Signalling issues around Whitechapel which messed up the Elizabeth line service all day.

Ticket acceptance for Heathrow Express is only able to be done for those with paper tickets anyway, so regardless you’d have to pay the £25 and then claim back which is not the easiest process.

TfW are throwing in the towel between Newport & Shrewsbury it seems due to a tree between Hereford and Leominster.

Network Rail have said they are unable to attend due to a significant amount of other incidents, so for the time being it’s sticking there
