I share that. XC is effectively a state run farm controlled from Whitehall. So if DfT want 100 acres of land to grow barley that is what XC will do etc etc.

So for those calling for the XC brand to be dispensed with, a replacement needs to be provided for the customers to buy tickets for and use. Simply binning a bramsd without an alternative is not like you favourite supermarket withdrawing a certain brand of baked beans - because alternatives are available. Not quite so easy for customers travellign from say Macclesfield to Oxford or Darlington to Cheltenham.
How do we, the customer get our voice heard, I’m sick of them as I have to travel at weekends quite often and don’t drive. It’s depressing when other people just tell you to jump in the car and you can’t
I wouldn't have minded their open acess plans (albeit a bit ambitious and discussed at length on other threads.)

Virgin had the knack for branding even in basic ads like that it showcases key destinations on both the coast mainlines in the end card.

The most recent one would have cost a fortune too. Although it is a slight improvement

Journey with pride. Are they having a laugh. That looks dreadful and there’s little for the long suffering passenger and staff to be proud of.

The 'brand' is irrelevant here. Assuming the government gets its act together and provides a national ticket portal, it's fairly irrelevant what name is on the side of the train when the government is controlling them all anyway.

There already is one, it's called Trainline and (like it or not) it sells the vast majority of tickets. So much as I support replacing it with a GBR one in that role the situation wouldn't change much.

I’d be very keen not to use Trainline again so hope the gov can get its act together (doubtful).

In theory they can control who sells tickets and crush Trainline’s business in a heartbeat. I’m not a fan so won’t shed too.many tears.

I suspect the likelihood is that Trainline will end up providing a whitelabel version for GBR to use...at the appropriate cost...
