Ah sorry to hear that mate! It’s frustrating I was in the same boat last year had to wait 6 months to apply again. But applied recently for the Cardiff one and passed the tests but didn’t get interview so moved my application over. Didn’t feel like I done anything different!! I thought I struggled tbh especially with the dots one. Hopefully better luck this time.

Ah no way that is frustrating! Yeah I’m worried I’m on the edge I’m like 46 min away but then obviously when there’s rush hour traffic I’m a few mins over unsure if it’ll be okay if I’m honest.

Network Rail are extremely strict on the 60 minute rule, due to fatigue issues of staff working a 12hr shift then driving home.

It’s a Tondu SB, Google the station at Tondu it’s a stone throw from the platform.

Good luck - just had the "no thanks" after my online tests - which I passed last time 6months ago and go to interview, so no idea what I've done differently this time!!

I believe so yes, so you might be lucky and get a good traffic day.

A470…..but then you have options to “cross country” should the main route become blocked.

Keep an eye on Amey website they on occasion advertise for signallers at Taff Well IECC.

Pontypridd to Taff Well is probably less than 20 minutes door to door.

They are effectively a network rail grade 8 pay wise which is incredible considering what they do or don’t….

Yes, and no unfortunately the new careers pages aren’t as good or user friendly as they used to be.

Interestingly it’s not on the internal vacancy list which is strange (Tondu SB I mean).

Have you been one for long if so how are you finding it? Could that be because there is no interest internally maybe. Do they do external only for the lower grades?

Recently applied for signaller position and having applied before and completed the interview I was moved over to a talent pool. With this application I requested my previous answers to be considered. They moved over my previous application and now I've been invited for assessment day.

I've done an interview previously but this time they are asking me to have a presentation ready. Anyone completed this before, would be very appreciative for some advise.

Hi all, I applied for the G9 signaller role in Glasgow in the middle of July. I passed stage 1 and 2 and I've been waiting to find out if I've made the cut for the assessment centre. From reading the forum I can see there is a couple of others in the same boat.

I was wondering if someone who recently became a signaller for NR could give a quick timeline from applying to starting IST. TIA

Cheers, I'm 18 months in and wish I'd done it sooner. It took me a long time to get my foot in the door, but perseverance paid off.

That's good to know, I was gutted when I got the email about talent pool.... thought that was maybe a polite way of saying thanks but no thanks however looking through the forum there seems to be quite a few who have came from the pool. Glad you are loving the job!

Been waiting ages for an assessment centre day, passed all my tests 2 month ago. Even had 2 emails apologising for the delay.

I have now received an invite and the 2 days available are both when I am on holiday. Asked if I could come earlier or later as I won’t be in the country on them days and they said no!

Response basically was, sadly there are no more assessment dates and if you cannot attend we cannot proceed further.

What a let down after all that time and effort.
