Basically, I purchased earlier this year one of these, a Plateway models 16mm Type A-based containers, and I have decided that I would like the finished model to be in GWR chocolate and cream. I have already purchased some GWR shirt button transfers so that part is taken care of.

Granted, this won't win any awards with rivet counters and is hardly imaginative in livery choice. However, my question is what is the best Chocolate and Cream paints, acryllic or spray have members used on their previous GWR models that they would recommend to me off the shelf in 2025 for this model?

Not a GWR modeller myself, but the Railmatch acrylics always apply well for me as long as not overthinned in airbrush. (I use Hycote primer first). 602/603 are the colours I think you might need. They sell as an aerosol too, and as an enamel.

Your other option I think is Precision Paints - those are enamel only IIRC

Thank you for the advice. I will certainly look into using some of these suggestions, and I am glad there is the Aerosol option as well for the Railmatch paints.

The aerosols come out a bit heavy for my liking, but that might be user error!

So I ended up spraying the container with a Railmatch GWR brown instead. You are right; at times, it came out fairly heavy, but otherwise it was relatively consistent and the paint settled rather well on the container. I am very impressed with the result :).

Once again, thank you for the recommendation.

Good stuff! Glad it worked out nicely!
