Dean Forest Diesel Gala: September 13th & 14th 2025

Over the last month or so the DFR have released the info on their 2025 Diesel Gala.

50021, courtesy of Paul Spracklen, and 55009, courtesy of the DPS, are the two star visitors this year.

08769, 09106 and D9521 are all penned to work passenger trains aswell. D9521 and 09106 should both be sporting new paintwork by that point too.

Timetable is already written and the press releases say it will be available 'shortly'.

Was originally 55019 providing the Napier Noise but that had to withdraw unfortunately. All good though, for us just a Deltic is fantastic regardless of which one it ends up being!

For me though, the 50 attendance is just *chefs kiss*.

Deltic + 50 does seem to be the theme of the year!

ROMIC 20007 & 20205 on hire to RailAdventure working 1350 0Z20 Wembley Loco Sidings to Chaddesden, they will then work tomorrows 0935 0E54 to Barrow Hill LIP and 1305 0Q55 to Lydney Junction with 55009

Sadly her return to frontline duties will miss the gala by a few weeks. However I must publicly credit the owners for putting in a great amount of effort in recent weeks to try and get it ready. There is a push to get it doing a running day or two before the end of the season.

08769 didn't come out to play today either! However I still had a great day with rides behind the 09, 50, and 55 (and in a brake van...)
