Where one holds a split ticket, for which one of the planned services has been cancelled, and the next service to the final destination does not call at a ticket split point, what approach should be taken? To wait for the next service(s) which do call at the split point, even if that gives rise to a larger Delay Repay claim, or to minimise the claim and use the next service to the final destination?

Get permission to use the earlier service before using it, otherwise you’re at risk for not having a valid ticket combination.
Pragmatically you’d normally be allowed, but a ticket inspector would not be interested in the amount of your Delay Repay claim.

This is a classic example where we need what DB do, which is to specify that if you are delayed by more than a certain time, your ticket automatically becomes an Anytime, with no requirement to get permission/endorsement.
