That’s not the new uniform

That blue is the old TfL Rail uniform now known as the Elizabeth Line.
Oh that’s what came up when I searched it

I think this is the best advice on the forum. LU want you to be a human being to another human being. You will come across many situations in your working life where you can't "solve" it.

In the scenarios, there often isn't a right or wrong answer to the problem that's presented. Nobody here knows for sure, but I believe they're looking for the way you deal with enquiries and issues - and that must be with empathy, compassion, professionalism, friendliness, and fairness.
Thank you, I agree.

This is the new uniform, posted on the thread a few months back.

I personally prefer the old one but I guess they're going for a more visible and universal look

Will you have to do the roleplay infront of everyone? Or is it just you and the other person in the room. Also the SBI too. Just wondering.
Thanks

Does anyone know how to request off pre booked leave? I have a wedding next year. It says on the start date email to do it 4 weeks prior to starting, do I just call recruitment?

What will they change about the hi vi? It’s just a standard railway hi vi with the underground logo at the back…
Some of the hi-vi are interchangeable with the red 'here to help' and then the orange side when you flip it around- when you are on the platform.

Role play/SBI- it is just you in the room for the SBI. The roleplay is it you, the actor and the person who is marking you.

Once you have the offer letter, let the onboarding team know straight away ( they will also ask you if you have any pre-planned leave too), they will try and offer it you but isn't 100% guaranteed. If it is during your 4 weeks of training then you won't be able to take it and your training will be delayed.

Yes, once you get your start date I’d call Recruitment. You may be asked to email it.

I would also then give the dates to the Training Manager once you start, and again to your Customer Service Manager (CSM) or admin on your station - sadly these things don’t always filter through each stage!

Definitely don’t delay, even if it’s next year, as there’s on a limited window where it will be considered ‘pre-booked’.

The reversible hivis are no longer issued, although some stations still have stocks. Anyone currently going through the recruitment process is extremely unlikely to get one.

You should be trained in both SATS (Station Assistant Train Services - basically dwell time and PTI [platform train interface] management) and Assisted Dispatch (more like dispatch on the mainline as part of degraded working) during your CSA training, provided you hold a full safety critical medical. However, you would not normally carry out these procedures as a CSA2, and indeed may not be trained immediately if business needs dictate otherwise (it has happened in sine cases). If you have medical restrictions, noting that CSA2s do not require full safety critical activity clearance, you are not able to carry out these safety critical roles.

Once you start CSA2 you’re on 6month probation, can you book annual leave within those 6 months?

Leave will be allocated to you, once you start at your station you should get this. If you have any pre-planned holiday, let onboarding know ASAP, they will try and give it to you but isn't guaranteed. HOWEVER YOU CAN'T TAKE LEAVE DURING THE 4 WEEKS OF TRAINING!

It’s 10 weeks in periods over the year in which you can book your annual leave.
Nope, leave is allocated to you.

CSA1 get slightly more leave than a CSA2 does due to banked rest days. There is a posts about this further back.

Ah I thought we got periods throughout the year (as I saw a picture with different periods over 5 years) that we could book our annual leave with. I see!

I don’t suppose you know where? :) thanks for clarifying!

Hi just a question, when submitting for REED you will provide what you was doing in the last 5 years?
What if one of the years you was working at a family restaurant but cash in hand, and you can get a reference letter proving u worked there and give details of the owner. Will this be Ok to submit will they allow this?

Just need some reassurance with this. Thank you.

Yes sorry, So when you join you will be put in one of the groups and those are the days that you won't work.

The rota you see if mainly for CSA1 as they get extra days off- banked rest days- don't think there is a ready available one for CSA2.

Tfl released the "latest" Implementation Notice here which covers all pay. (It's been updated for 2024 but didn't seem to be in the public domain.)

For 2024 figures add:

CSA1 = +4.9%
CSA2 = +5.9%

(sorry I can't get the inline links to work atm)

I don’t really remember much but a lot of it was just tests of grammar, spelling and punctuation then. Look through the thread I’m sure someone has posted an example.

If you weren’t paying tax probably better to say you were unemployed or volunteering. Only because they’ll ask for 5 year tax history through HMRC and from there they’ll be able to see every job you worked and if you haven’t paid tax on that it might raise questions.

Also does anyone know when we receive details of training. I start on the 15th.
