What would be the best route for this journey during tube strikes? I see that I can go via Elizabeth Line to Farringdon, then Thameslink to St Pancras and walk, but would this be possible with an XYZ to London Underground Zones 1-2 ticket? I am travelling from the GEML to Manchester Piccadilly, and I'd ideally like to avoid the Norwich to Liverpool Lime Street EMR service. The journey cannot be done on a day without strikes. Any help/advice for this journey would be greatly appreciated.

But if you have a ticket for Zone 1-2 or whatever it’ll be valid to Saint Pancras as you suggest.

It would be valid on Thameslink to St Pancras, yes.

Although, to be honest, if Tottenham Court Road station is open (which it might not be as it's managed by London Underground, so do check) then it might be as well to get off the Elizabeth Line at Tottenham Court Road and walk from there.

If you change at Farringdon you'll want to be at the front of the Elizabeth Line train for the change to Thameslink.

If you go to Tottenham Court Road you'll want to be close to the rear (maybe the penultimate coach) for the main exit, which is the nearest one to Euston.

They're both closed but only before 7.30am and after 10.30pm. I believe they are both managed by LU.

There will be occasions when Liz Line trains will not stop between Whitechapel & Bond Street (inclusive).

Only early morning and late evening. So really it depends when OP is travelling.

Isn't Farringdon also managed by London Underground?
It's a bit weird. I believe the staff on the Cowcross Lane (North side) and Turnmill St entrances are LU, while those on the south side and at the Barbican entrance are MTR (except the ticket office which is GTR).

I had rather hoped they could just close off the Underground station and keep the Thameslink/EL bits open, but it's good to know what the plans are.

If there’s no service at the EL core stations when you’re travelling and if your train stops at Stratford, then change to the Overground there and get off at Camden Road. About a 20 minute walk from there to Euston.

The bus will be extremely slow during any strike action, to the extent that it would probably be quicker to walk than take the bus. Pentonville Road and City Road become car parks during strikes.

Not sure what day the OP is travelling, but I understand the Northern Line is open today so the obvious routes would be walk to Moorgate then Northern Line to Euston, or Elizabeth Line to Tottenham Court Road and Northern Line to Euston. Not a very frequent service, but probably better than the alternatives discussed above if you don't wish to walk very far.

It will be tomorrow and the day after.
