It looks like I'm going to be travelling between Dundee and Aberdeen much more regularly.
At the moment when traveling been the two cities I purchase a day return split at Stonehaven ticket.
This means the price for a day return is £28.20 rather than anytime return £39.80.
I am looking at the 12 single journey Flexipass tickets which ScotRail sell.
Dundee to Aberdeen
£206.30
Dundee to Aberdeen split at Stonehaven
£145.80
This is obviously a decent saving.
My question is, if I buy the ticket on the ScotRail app do I activate the two tickets when I board at Dundee for the whole journey? As I assume I'd need to active the Stonehaven to Aberdeen leg before the train departs Stonehaven?
This could be a very obvious answer but I just wanted to double check as if you use a smartcard it states you must scan on and off the train. Which would not be possible as I will not be getting off the train in Stonehaven.
Any help from anyone who has experience with splitting the Flexipass ticket is much appreciated.
