Is via Leicester a permitted route on ANY PERMITTED tickets?


What over route vatiations can be done other done the normal Birmingham - Derby - Sheffield?

According to the Routeing Guide that would be fine. Other than those two routes, I can't see any alternatives.

Yes, you can go via Derby. I've done Leicester to Nuneaton via Derby & Tamworth once, what a great day out that was!

On occasions when Derby route has been blocked ( derailment etc) passengers have been advised to travel via Manchester, though really changing at Stockport makes more sense and saves time.

Yes, you can go via Derby. I've done Leicester to Nuneaton via Derby & Tamworth once, what a great day out that was!

It is no longer permitted. Map BP is the only applicable map and I don't think there are any relevant easements.

Was this route previously allowed? Was it only during times of disruption?
