Luxury Trains in Germany

Are there any luxury train companies in Germany that run special trains on the DB network. Longer distance day trips (possibly overnighters) such as Pathfinder, UK Railtours, Railway Touring Company and LSL in the UK? Either first class with light refreshments or full dining.

And/or do any small local preserved lines offer dining trains?

Looking at late November and early-mid December.

Or is the day trip market more of a UK thing?!

but it's not clear if they run scheduled trips or it is only available if you hire the entire train. It would make for a very expensive ride if it's only the latter!

No, not just GB/UK BUT at that time of year demand and hence also offer is very, very slim to zero. Close by to ´Weihnachten´ =Christmas perhaps a slightly better chance.
SOME of the longer museumlines (that is how ´preserved´ is mostly called here-to avoid misunderstandings) indeed do sometimes, on a few selected special days in the year a kind of ´dining´experience, but expect in general more some local ´delicacies´ as this food will be called in a perhaps a little bit overstated way. And-prejudice- plenty of locally brewed beer.
At home I still have some old-style printed book with all those lines described and explained, but there are dozens and dozens of those in DE=Deutschland.
IF you command any german-though /en/ will probably also do, I suggest you use the german equivalent of this forum, DSO = Dreh Scheibe Online, subdivided in a lot of special interest subforums- and see if it maybe already lists some or try it out.

Lok-Report has an events diary (or did, I don't have reason to look at it ATM) which is pretty thorough. The emphasis on German specials seems to be more on nostalgia than luxury, and the buffet/bar gemütlich not cordon bleu
