67005 carrying an allocation 1TFW on earlier list. Apologies if already discussed but AFAIK it can't work push-pull, so presumably a Thunderbird?

It's been doing a few TfW duties the last few days, mainly thunderbird and also moving the sets between Crewe ETD and Crewe ATC depots for different types of maintenance work and exams.

06:27 & 10:30. The 08:30 will when it returns to Mk4 operation.

Is breakfast available throughout on the 10.30? Or does the train switch to lunch (only) at, for example, Shrewsbury or Ludlow?

I’m fairly sure they stick to a single meal service throughout, so you’d have a late breakfast rather than an early lunch. Light bites menu of sandwiches available throughout if a fry up or pancakes no longer feels appropriate at midday!

Sorry, I typed this out yesterday to reply and never posted! @aar0 is correct above, breakfast available throughout on 1V39 10:30 departure. The standard three course dinner menu is not available on that train at all but the lighter bites menu is which is sandwiches, sausage rolls, burgers etc.

When will that be? Wasn't aware any even hour from Manchester was anything but loco hauled right now.
There's been a missing loco-hauled diagram since the Leominster incident, with that diagram being a unit instead. All 7 sets are back now, but my understanding is that they need to get all the exams back in sync and sort out the recent reliability issues with both the locos and the rakes before the 5th diagram returns

It was only between December 2024 and May 2025 that there were officially 5 booked diagrams on weekdays. Before the December timetable change it was the diagram that started with the ECS to Swansea that was booked for a 197. Now its the other diagram that starts in Cardiff.

I do hope that a resolution to this situation arises sooner or later, I do miss going for an evening stroll to the station to see 1V50 through here on it's way to Swansea. That could just be myself missing the normality of last year, but still.
