Why would they sell back to Royal Mail? They were disposing of them themselves, that makes no sense.
It does make sense if Varamis have been unable to pay for them in full. They would then revert to Royal Mail ownership.

Possibly have RM reversed the decision and decided to overhaul these 6 units? Seems strange but stranger things have happened!
If they have sold them, how can they reverse a decision? They can't, it's not there property any more.

And Royal Mail stopped moving mail by train, they have no need for units,

Maybe they were 'sold' to Varamis, but never paid for, so Royal Mail are reclaiming them?

The first Varamis 321s for scrap on 04/09 (this one sounds a lot more likely to run than previous attempts):
Any idea which units?

I would suspect it will be 321339 and 321440 since they are the closest to the 'exit' lets say!
321342 is also in with a chance.

As @sad1e posted over on the Out of Use Units thread, I would highly suspect 321339, 321341, 321334 and 321440 to be destined since they are believed be unconverted and have never worked for Varamis.

Am I missing something or wasn’t 321334 the unit being used for so long when Varamis only had 1?
i Must have got it confused with 321407 as they both have similar blue liveries. 321407 is unconverted and currently in a poor state in Willesden ,321341 has seen service with Varamis and is converted but 321338 is not.

Nope 321407 is also a converted unit, see post #130 for the details of the Varamis 321 fleet

Isnt that why they are at railnet receptions, which is a NR Network Facility rather than official stabling location, so doesnt charge for storage as it isn't signed for that?

Not many spare roads at Wembley ICD for any short/medium term storage. I suspect Alstom told them to sling their hook and they ended up at the railnet sidings.

321440 & 321342 quoted for today’s scrap move.
Both unconverted units and 440 having not ever worked for Varamis (besides shunting around Northampton and moving to Willesden in May).

Of note 440 was also the unit originally hoped to be preserved before that fell through and Varamis Rail subsequently purchased it. It's escaped Newport Docks once already but sadly I don't think it will this time...

37423 en route from Leicester LIP to assist, brakes on the 321s stuck on apparently. 37800 has gone back to Wembley Loco Sdgs for now

Are you sure about the use of 37423 to assist? It doesn’t have tightlock couplers nor translator kit.

0Z99 headcode is usually used to get a loco in position for preplanned Thunderbird duties or a loco departing after finishing thunderbird duties. Also the schedule is finishing at DB Cargo A Fan at Wembley rather than Railnet.

Correct sir

Think it's fair to say the crap move isn't running today even though 37s have been moved around today within reason.

Always Changing
Mid to late afternoon today I saw what was possibly the last movement of a 321 under its own power - a pair were shunting around Willesden as I passed.

All but 2 of the units (a blue one with pink doors and a white one with grey doors) look to have moved from where they were a few days go, to me they look to have been positioned ready for departure to Newport.
