Considering the state of Varamis I would class all of their 321's are out of use. Even without their current financial troubles they still have a few units at willesden that aren't mail converted and have never run under Varamis , if I remember correctly these units are 321339, 321341, 321334 321407 and 321440

Not surprising given that this is an integration of Alstom equipment onto a Bombardier unit. Not to mention the timescales of other contemporary ETCS FiC (first in class) fitments - Class 66 and Class 67 in particular.

It's 156470/473/497/498 at Ely. Not so much rejected by Northern, as Northern not being authorised by DfT to take them.

Apart from 241, 242 and 247, which are long-term stored at Worksop AIUI, all the 465/2s have now been scrapped.

769922 is mentioned in the table above, but surely almost the whole of the 769/9 fleet has been stored since their conversion some years ago. GWR ran test trains, but never used them in passenger service. AFAIK a small number have been moved for potential re-use in some form.

I guess it depends upon how long is long-term? 165113 has been out of use since mid June but maybe that is not long enough?

165113 returned to traffic today. Been out on the North Downs services.
