Trivia : Fastest time you've ticked off a class

I was wondering what was the fastest time people here have ticked off different classes of train.

My fastest would probably be getting all the 318's in 2 days but there are probably classes you can tick off faster.

What is the class you've ticked off the fastest and how ? ( Excluding classes with only one member)

Classes 05, 89, 446, 457. No time at all! Also, in preservation, class 109.

Class 01 didn't take long - saw 01002 on the breakwater and found 01001 in the shed two or three minutes later

All the 320s in less than a day in Glasgow. Helped by RTT and that the only two not in service were stabled outside GW.

All the times I've been there I can never see 001 , it never seems to be out and the shed they keep it in is always shut.

You could do Class 399 in about five seconds at certain times.

803 is doable in a day if you can see the one that isn't working (usually at Craigentinny).

155s you could probably manage quite quickly at York and with a trip past Botanic Gardens TMD Neville Hill

Got to allow a bit more than that to ensure it's not just gravity or the release of buffer compression. Mind you, I once had a 47 for about 1/2 a coach length along one of the platforms at York - the time it took for the brake pipes and various other connections between loco and front carriage of a full ECML rake to come adrift when expected to do the work of the actual coupling (which had somehow been forgotten!). I was only 9 at the time so was enthralled by the journey (Deltic failure about 1/2 mile after boarding at Stevenage; single 31 off Hitchin Yard as far as York (no doubt losing time royally on the way) - more time lost with the 47 farce (and presumably shunting off the front coach) then a Peak the rest of the way to Scotland. I suspect most of the other passengers were thoroughly fed up!!!!

Highly doubt it, even if you got.past security.... Someone might stop you and ask you to take a few 60s with you

I got all the remaining 24s in one day not long after I started spotting. Mind you, there was only one left at that point.

Nit sure, but probably the 3 Vale of Rheidol steam locos (7, 8, 9) in 1964.

Very possible; but of course, soon there will be more 99s.

A scorching sunny day and the FY 59s lined up perfectly, to photograph all five names in one shot. It was the only time my camera found 47901, too.

I cleared the first four in Southampton Docks the evening they were unloaded. My old man worked in the Docks and he took me to see them after school.
