RAIL magazine not crediting photographers

This latest issue of Rail Magazine does not have any credits to any of the photographs!

Rail magazine has relied on contributions from the railway enthusiats since it's inseption and has like all other railway magazines always credited the photogrpahers.

I notice that Rail has increasingly been using stock agencies for their photos of late

I wonder if this is now the thin end of the wedge for freelance contributions?

They’ve launched their re-design and I believe the credit removal is a casualty of this. As for being the thin edge of the wedge, that and AI are all contributing to this.

I'm up to issue 1040 and it's been feeling like a good read recently with good articles (and good pictures).

It will be a shame if it succumbs to the cursed AI slop.

I will have to see what it looks like.

I quite like the redesign, but if they aren't crediting photographers then that's one aspect they should change.

I've felt that they were a bit too much of an industry mag a few years ago, whereas recently they've found a better balance between industry and railway interest. I want them to stick with that.

Agree with posters above, photographers should be credited.

The photographers are being credited; the credits are now vertically down the side of the page instead of under the photo itself.

I would hope that AI would play no part unless specifically for artists' impressions stuff like, for example, what a new building might look like.

Reading vertically is a pain - sounds like something changed for the sake of change.

Rail Advent just re-hashes (in many cases not even that, just copy and paste) material from elsewhere. There is no new content that I can see.

Rail itself did have more of an enthusiast focus when it started.

It had so much of an enthusiast focus that it was actually called “Rail Enthusiast”. It was a bit too much that way inclined for my liking at the time.
