Very disconcerting to be arriving at Vauxhall as the announcement was saying "Vauxhall and London Waterloo"!!!! I don't know what the external displays were displaying, but the internal screens mimicked the aural announcements.
I alighted at Kingston, but I'd tuned the words out by then!!!! I hope that was an error??

I don't know if it's been mentioned upthread (too much to look through) but my 1057 ex WLO Strawberry Hill rounder on Wednesday started the journey detailing all stations to be served through to WLO!!
Very disconcerting to be arriving at Vauxhall as the announcement was saying "Vauxhall and London Waterloo"!!!! I don't know what the external displays were displaying, but the internal screens mimicked the aural announcements.

I assume it will be sorted eventually but that does seem to be the case on all 701 operated WAT-WAT services. Really annoying too as they list out all stations after every stop, and it’s a very long list to go through.

As there is no off setting it runs on a constant thermostat. There are settings the driver can choose, but its impossible to keep the cab temperature constant, the system is always applying heat or cold conditioned air to try and keep the set temperature, but it will cool the cab temperature too much then apply heat to warm it up again. The louvered vents above the driver can’t be moved so the hot/cold air is always blowing on top of the drivers head.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been raised as an issue on another Aventras, considering it appears to be an identical system.

Careful, perhaps I have found the cause of the rumour that SE are getting 701s. Realistically I cannot see a 701 running anytime soon between Sittingbourne and Sheerness-On-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey.

One a week, with an extra one introduced every 2, 3 or 4 weeks seems realistic.

Almost certainly the key date is end of current timetable, Saturday 13th December. Getting 18-20 trains from store in 14-15 weeks should not a tough target.

Traditionally November is busiest commuting month, (as hardly anyone goes on holiday in November) then passenger numbers drop off bit by December as people are using up spare holiday days, and going to parties. So November will be real crunch period for capacity.

Of those, the two most recent ones are 701 005 and 701 053 - the latter has been in service for a couple of weeks now, the former I think was reported a few days ago.
