Arlberg engineering works October 2025

Does anyone have any knowledge of the works taking place on the Arlberg pass route in October? There is a note on the ÖBB website that trains won’t be running between Ötztal and Zürich and will be replaced by buses to Sargans, but I can’t find out anything more.

These are normal maintenance measures. In order to make the most efficient use of the closure, ÖBB is combining numerous projects along the route, including various maintenance works, new track laying, the renovation of an avalanche protection gallery, and the refurbishment of Schönwies station.
