Given the age of many members of this forum, I'd be interested to see how many people are at uni, or planning to go to university.

For the record, I'm a second year History undergrad at Exeter University.

I don't think it's fair that a thread that is designed for people at Uni is allowed to be 'gatecrashed' with posts about whether Uni is justified or not (the answer of course is not going to be clear-cut so this could run on forever!), therefore I have moved that discussion to an alternative thread.

This sounds a pity, as you have already put in a full year. Is there an educational reason for this or have other matters conspired to bring about this decision?

I didn't particularly like it, and I don't think uni is for me - I really struggled with a lot of the work, even though I was getting help from the student support people.
If I can find work before the next semester, then I won't be going back. If I can't, then I'll just be commuting through to Stirling from Edinburgh for days when I need to be through there, and will likely drop out if/when I find work.

I'm not at Uni yet, but should be next year assuming i've not screwed up Further Maths too badly (I dozed off in the FP2 exam, and forgot how to do PDFs and CDFs for Stats2)
I got 95% on each of FP1, M2, and D1, which I sat in January though, so hopefully it balances out

It is refreshing to see how many of you are studying or are going to study engineering.

We have a general lack of engineers in the industry, so I'm pleased to see it. It is a rewarding career that might not pay as well as some, but it has real purpose and relevance as well as being able to shape the future of railways.

The free travel helps too...
