Got advance out Picc - MKC on Sept 1 back 5th. I'm currently a bit poorly and due in hospital for tests next week.

I know Avanti can change advances (for a fee?) but as I've used this site I don't think I can change via Avanti.

I'm on mobile (in bed!) so it's difficult for me to go through all the options so would be grateful to know if, should it be needed, I can change my ticket and at what admin cost

If I can I'll go through it all when I'm on my PC and if not then I'll just have to write my trip off.

Much appreciated

If you want to reschedule it, admin fee is £5 per booking. The process is to re-book and then apply for a refund on the initial booking afterwards (supplying the new booking reference at this time). If the new ticket is cheaper, the difference will not be refunded - in line with usual Change of Journey process rules. The origin/destination/passenger details must all stay the same.

If you'd rather just get a refund without re-scheduling because you're too unwell to travel, talk to customer services and they'll look at whether a medical refund might be feasible given exceptional circumstances. It's likely you'd be asked for e.g. evidence of the appointment if you went down that route, just FYI.

Thanks, didn't realise the latter was an option! May do that as I'm unsure when I will be ready to travel!

The downside is you get charged the share of saving fee twice for the same journey if your new ticket is the same split.
