Given that it's now only a month until the event, I wonder if they'll leave one of the two at Derby instead of bringing the expected 720 506 all the way there?

Yes, they keep cancelling the Friday returns twice now.
Should be 720506 due to head up to Derby soon.

Yeah they have been putting them onto the System and then it doesn't run at all which is quite odd. But hopefully the 3rd time is a charm and it will run (when it gets scheduled that is.)
Do you know which one went to Wembley for tyre turning ?
Hopefully. they will need to return 505+568 back in the next few weeks as soon as 720506 is ready to head up for the event next month.

Yes it’s running finally after how many times it’s got cancelled happy days.
(505 now back at Ilford 3 minutes early)
Not sure why they chose to leave 568 behind when 506 is booked for greatest gathering next month ?

Probably to save a move. 720568 is now taking place instead of 720506 (listed on Alstoms website)
Great choice. That does save a few trips back & fourth. Now hopefully to get the very last one 505 in service by next month.

Only the first four were cancelled on Monday
They haven’t removed the livery yet on 506. It’s just not going to take place at Derby to save an odd trip or 2. 568 is now showing on the website.No more Pride train.

5Q33 etc mileage trips running again today (Thursday 31.07.25).
Over the past week, 5Q33 etc ran on 06.08.25, was booked up but cancelled 08.08.25, but not booked 04/08, 05/08 and 07/08:
Presumably this must be for 720505 but due to the infrequentcy of it running, one wonders if there are still problems.

Looks like they last ran on Thursday until about 1330 but all cancelled after that
568 will definitely go straight back into service as soon as it’s back. 505 has still not yet had the chance to enter service first time, not sure why ?
When’s the next mileage run booked for 505 ?

A visit to the wheel lathe was my only conclusion too. Its been happening for a few weeks now.
A 720 arrives at Ipswich on the Monday from Ilford and returns on the Wednesday:

there was a 5q30 and 5q33 through Witham earlier
London end 720 was very dirty but Colchester end 720 was as new condition
couldn't identify the numbers due to the jungle that has appeared in front of Witham station but the Colchester end unit looked like 720505
RTT shows unit 720552 on own but was a 10 car
568 has officially returned home.
Looks like that was a test run to Clacton & back to Ilford. Definetly that must’ve been 505 on the country end of 5Q30+33 on it’s first ever 10 car run.
