Im going to raise a point on how long these units are taking. 170112 took i believe 11 weeks. And 113 has been in there 7 or 8, if we presume each unit is now going to be 11 weeks. A little bit of math gives us the list of predicted dates for units returning:

I see where your mathS* are coming from, but it has already been mentioned that they expect the pace to pick up to take approx 6 weeks per set (after the initial 2-3 units). This is on par with most refurbishments of this kind, so it does make sense. There will always be niggles and snags on some units too that will need to be addressed and mean some may take longer than others. With that in mind and with no major issues to availability of the fleet holding things up significantly, we could easily see the entire fleet completed by this time next year.

Refurbishing the 9 and 11 car pendolinos was down to only a couple of weeks by the end of the program, if I recall correctly.

6 weeks is what I've been told. All the seats have been removed from 170113 now. One of the ends has been rubbed down ready for a new look. Seems to be going well at the moment.

6 Weeks seems a long time to turn around a 2 or 3 car unit when Alstom were 9 and 11 car trains in less time.

I wouldn't have guessed so, considering there were a few others around me also photographing it!

My sighting of it was totally unplanned - I had got back from visiting a friend (hence the "DSLR-owner's phone photo").

I figured I'd share it in here, as no one else had done so! That's the only reason I did, as I don't really share my photos on this forum.

That’s a good sign. The rate of refurbishment has definitely increased now.

I would assume that they do it by whichever units are available, but I may be wrong.

Travelled on 170112 between Burton-on-Trent and Birmingham earlier in the new refurbishment. Certainly came across as a fresh comfy interior, though, as is often the case, XC could do with more of them.
