You get the splits after handover to the "full" journey search where you select a departure. It gives you an illustrative price figure at the first step that's designed to be an "up to" so you can figure out where to go.

TRL (as we call it internally) shouldn't have gone down but RTT might have for some users. All fixed now as far as I can make out.

I have a problem on Realtime Tickets which is when I choose a service, "Show intermediate stops" does not work and neither does "Close." To continue buying a ticket I have to then hit refresh.

In the ticket restrictions dialog, could it show if the ticket is any permitted route (e.g. Bedford to Brighton, on LNR's website it says "Travel is allowed via any permitted route.")? Or is that already implied in the case where it doesn't specify a route.

It will still hinge off the back of itineraries due to how we get the data in from Raileasy. And for things like Advance and split tickets obviously you'll need to pick an itinerary to get the final price.

For walk-up type tickets it will still offer itineraries but obviously no obligation to follow. (I'd love to do it without that forced but I think there'd be quite a lot of work for upstream to do and a whole new set of accreditation requirements. But that would then at least make rangers and rovers a lot easier once they work out how to retail them )

Just tried it and it looks really good. One question, for one suggestion made it says 'your selected railcard has not been used as part of the search for this destination as a cheaper price was found without'.

I'm trying to think, outside of the South East at peak times, what ticketing options could have come up that are cheaper without a senior railcard? (In this case, it was search for options for travelling from Halifax next Tuesday after 0900 with a budget of £10, and the comment was with regard to a suggestion for a trip to Bradford.)

To avoid ambiguity, I've started to refer to a related entity that clearly could be confused with the train fares as Range Car Rover Car

I've just had a look at the underpinning administrative view of the tickets it's selected and it's chosen the SDR correctly but has decided that the railcard shouldn't apply for some reason. I'll have a look into it - there's a lot that goes on underneath the hood with that system (it's checking fares and restrictions for all 2500 odd stations during the search time with some optimisations) so there might be something awry with the railcard validity checker. I think the Network, Gold Card, Senior and F&F Railcards all have specific code paths around geography which might be what's throwing it.

Once you click through it does take you through to a page to buy the ticket though which will apply the railcard correctly.

We've added an update to Realtime Tickets with a fairly major behind the scenes change, but a few front of house matters as well.

• It now supports RTT unified login accounts, the same login as RTT+, RailMiles, etc.
• This is preparation work for our future loyalty product. (Who says third party retailers can't do a loyalty offering?!)
• We now have a national seat selector!
• We've rebuilt Daytripper under the hood with a new timetables, fares and routeing engine.

On the Daytripper front, the new processing engine now has a full awareness of timetables and ticketing restrictions rather than some of the previous efficiency compromises. It also is somewhat more performant than before and will return results on more complicated queries (such as multiple passengers + multiple railcards). It also now supports searching for fares in single leg pricing areas, so more destinations will now be surfaced on LNER priced routes.

It also requires a return time to now be set, so it can evaluate whether a destination is actually possible - it judges it on a departure time within 1 hour of the outward, and returning within 1 hour of the return. We'll be adding a new filter that allows you to filter out any destination that requires a journey on a bus in a future release.

Is it possible yet to input via points? I can’t see how to do this and that functionality is very useful if trying to force certain tickets to appear.

New yesterday: logged in users with active RailMiles accounts can have their bookings automatically added to their RailMiles accounts - we'll add train, bus (scheduled & rail replacement) and ship legs at present.

More things on that front coming hopefully later this month.
