Well I failed on one of the computer tests. If it is of any use to anyone they told me I can apply again in 12 months time (not 6 months as the process started after December 2024) and that I will pick up where I left off so literally I would take one test. They also clarified that you get three applications with them before they bar you from applying again assuming your earliest application was after December 2024.

I only had I think 5 or 6 images with GWR a couple of months ago.

It's a standardised process so I would be very surprised if there were significantly different tests being used by different assessment centres and companies

From what I have heard, speaking to quite a few people, it isn't all that standardised!

A freightliner driver told me just yesterday that there are higher and lower standards across his sector and that Freighlinet are known to be more stringent than most, for example.

I hear similar accounts from passenger train drivers, too. Drivers at my TOC say it is an easier place to train and work than others. That may because our trains are not DOO?

Anyway it is not consistent from what I hear in person.

TOCs can operate to an enhanced standard, adding tests or increasing cutoff scores, but using a different test would be a huge deviation from the standard and I would imagine that the RSSB would have a lot to say about it

There are standard and enhanced psychometric tests. Freightliner test to the enhanced standard. This is all the usual assessments, with higher than normal scores needed for the Group Bourden, and an additional “Driver Fault Finding” test.
