Yeah, could be. However, I’m sure we were supposed to get 4426/7/8/9/30 from Thurmaston to displace the last remaining Volvo B7s.

Withal, the X6 service changes won’t go ahead until January. For now, it’s a minor timetable change.

The January changes include and are rumoured to be;
• The X6 being diverted along the A5 like the X60 used to do many moons ago
• A new bus service (Route 9) serving Fairfields to compensate for the loss of the X6 around the area.

Thus, only time will tell what we’ll get in MK in the foreseeable future.

MK is due MMC E400s in the not too distant future apparently.

Yeah the last batch of brand new buses MK got were the 3121-3128 in 2017, and the decker fleet is 16+ years old so MMCs would be good
Saying that, Luton's decker fleet are of similar age but I don't see any more coming our way with the fact that the Olympuses have only recently arrived.

Aside from The Point becoming a terminus, the Capability Green extension (including Saturdays) and non-stop running between Hockliffe & Milton Keynes Central station, the X1 will also serve Chaul End Community Centre from 1 September.

Use of the Midsummer Boulevard / Secklow Gate junction is still restricted until 30 September or thereabouts after last December's MK Market fire so it seems Luton-bound X1 buses will continue to be diverted via Marlborough Gate until then.

This will be for the LOOP, I believe three more are expected. 3798 has now departed Milton Keynes.
I’m Guessing the ones that Hinckley have unless they’re needed for the LC12/14/15/16 or the E200s/Solos from Telford.

As you mentioned that we’re getting E400MMCs, could they be the Ex-Southend 66 plate ones from Kent…

I’m sure the MMCs are mooted to be coming from one of the Fox County depots.

Sadly not, our Zak; this isn’t the case. It was an option we explored as part of the X4 review and one we did put to the depot whilst we were in consultation, but it isn’t going ahead. Unfortunately, it seems to have made its way out of our internal discussions through the usual depot hearsay - but that said, it does show (for those who doubt it) that we do consult with our depot teams when making network decisions.

Something I noticed the other week when the WCML was heavily disrupted was that the National Rail website still quoted the previous service numbers F70/F77 and 150 as alternative routes to use - who would be responsible for updating these to the current numbers? Does it come from the TOCs?

Thanks for highlighting this @moogal - your observations pair with some of my own from Leighton Buzzard on a recent visit. We'll pick this up with the right people to get alternative routes and onward travel posters updated.

2313 - LM64 JNZ awaiting transfer to Milton Keynes (MK)

This'll serve as an additional spare for Loop and 33/X33, continuing our fleet harmonisation across the patch.

Not sure where this claim has come from; I'm not aware of any current plans to bring E400MMCs into Milton Keynes.

Will be interesting to see how the new and “improved” X network works out particularly the X4 and X14.

It’s been made apparent to me that Red Rose will now be serving Heath & Reach from September with what I imagine will be an extended version of the 150. Well done for picking up the pieces from that freak show headed by the big wigs in Leicester.

When the X4 and X14 flop it will be interesting what next will be said. The last I heard was the root and the shoots looked promising but I’m guessing that not enough fertiliser was used.

Popcorn awaits.

There will be a new operator on the Milton Keynes to Aylesbury via Wing corridor come September. They will only run a few trips however.

The Orbit ticket zone (covering Northampton, Debden, and much in-between) will be no more; on 31 August the Beds & Bucks / Hertfordshire zones will replace it and the only routes included in both will be the 100/101 & 321.

Fares will remain unchanged despite the reduction in validity, though the All Zone ticket (Orbit zone + West Essex and Denham/Uxbridge) will still be available.

Zone maps (until 30 August / from 31 August)

Rather interestingly, Luton Streetlite 2322 was spotted route learning at Aylesbury Bus Station today.
