Tunbridge Wells regularly sees attachments into/detachments from 12 car trains, despite the platforms only being long enough for 10 cars.

What other examples are there on the GB rail network of attachments and detachments occurring in platforms that are too short for the full train to be accommodated?

The only other example I can think of is the Lowlands Sleeper at Carstairs.

I am surprised that the ASDO on the 375s and 377s at Tunbridge Wells allows that. Trains release their doors twice when dividing or attaching. Once before dividing or attaching and once after dividing or attaching. So i thought the rear portion after dividing and the rear portion before attaching would get messed up and release doors off platform as it would think it was short enough to be fully accommodated.

Not at Tunbridge Wells - the attachment takes place before the doors are then released from the leading cab. By that point the train "knows" it's 12 coaches in a 10 car platform and only opens the appropriate doors.

In the case of detachments, generally the rear portion (with 2 coaches off the platform) goes out of service, so the doors do not need to be re-released after dividing. I'm not sure how this would work if/when both portions continue in service.
