I was spotted in Chester by @TT-ONR-NRN recently. Neither of us work or live there so it was somewhat of a chance encounter! I was "otherwise engaged" at the time ;) so I didn't spot him back
I still think the best one of mine was when you boarded my train from Haymarket to Motherwell (in First Class as well!) - it’s the one I always remember because we were both miles from where we lived or worked!

My one and only 91 to Glasgow

First time in the city, and very nice it is too.
First time for me too, actually! Well, first time I've given it a proper visit rather than just passing through the station or popping into a pub.

Bit of a late entry from me but it has been confirmed that I saw @Oscar studying a departure screen at Basel SBB station early one morning last September 2024!

Let’s hope his train wasn’t as late as you are.

I was going on the 14:10 Intercity 225 haha. Whereabouts were you?
I was on the 12:02 York to Kings Cross; I saw you out of the window as we departed.

I also keep seeing @254024 randomly; a few months ago at Newcraighall station, and more recently (and much less unexpectedly) at/near York station on more than one occasion.

Also, I didn't post at the time but a few weeks ago we saw @Starmill waiting for a connection at York station.

We think we saw @Peterthegreat at Preston station, at the end of platform 6 just now (approx 0948) as our train departed. If not him, then a good lookalike!

Just bumped into @ainsworth74 as we both enjoyed one of Northern's finest wedged services to Saltburn
Yes hello! Northern to Saltburn on a sunny summer Saturday or Sunday is always fun and games. One advantage of using the service to commute is you can judge where to stand on the platform to ensure being first on board so I actually managed to get a seat unlike basically everyone else that piled on at Middlesbrough

I "saw" @xotGD at the Churnet Valley Railway last Saturday, but as they didn't have an advance ticket I didn't speak to them to check them in, plus I wouldn't have known what they looked like!

I was the one with the look of horror on his face when a 47 rolled in instead of the expected 33!

What?! The 47 was very well publicised on the CVR's website and Facebook pages :D besides she's looking stunning in 2-tone green.

I'm sure it's been mentioned up thread that many forum members don't know what another looks like as few posts have their photo as a guide. I don't know what the odds are in doing so but must be high.l think there are only two forum members l might recognise if l saw them Ashley being one of them ( if his photo is him!)
Perhaps we should all wear a pin badge to aid recognition ( hint)! Don't know if you can buy them? Anyway l'm rambling in holiday mode and am down the pub.

I used to always have a face profile picture but I took it down when I started getting serious in my current line of work, to prevent any embarrassment from posts thirteen-year-old me (and evil twin <D) might have made back in 2016.

I don’t look like my avatar, he’s Richard Massingham. Similar haircut though :D.

My avatar is the real me, but admittedly the photo is an old one dating from September 10th 2002, so nearly quarter a century's aging has to be added to my image!!

Why do I keep such an old picture there? Well... look carefully at the size of the window in the aircraft, and the penny will drop... :)

A trip on Concorde……just prior to withdrawal from service?

Indeed, and I've occasionally thought about asking people I see out and about if they are forum members (if I have clear and reasonable grounds for suspicion) but I'm just not outgoing enough! I'm certain I'll have met or at least viewed a train with at least some, though - there are far more members around than one would think.

Come to think of pin badges, until recently I had an Elizabeth Line pin badge (I'd love to say I bought it to be a veiled hint at my username, but no), but the pin broke off!

Yes, that was the last part of our honeymoon.

Just realised which thread this is so I think we're probably getting a bit off topic now, so to get back on topic:

Quite a few people on here probably could still recognise me using that picture as a guide, should they come across me.

I saw @Watershed in the lounge at Frankfurt airport yesterday evening. He was on the same flight as me and sat in the row ahead of me.
