Interesting, my bad
But the usual TGV tickets are more flexible than advances, in that they are completely refundable without charge up to 7 days before travel, whereas advances usually aren’t refundable at all

Yes, it would be nice to have a percentage refund on Advances (if it wasn't on the day of travel then refund fraud would be avoided). But they are changeable. There are no totally inflexible fares in the standard UK fare offering.
