Interesting to see that 5904 has gone. That unit was out of service for 8 months for corrosion repairs returning to service 10.03.25. Its last day in passenger service was 22.06.25, just over 3 months later.

Still vital seats in the system for that period while the pedestrian pace of 701 implementation creaked into life, alongside the 458s though, I suppose.

There is a light engine booked to arrive tomorrow which I am guessing is related, and a departure to Newport on Thursday. I presume the planned 0M59 to Leicester tomorrow relates to 69008 and not scrap moves

Providing unimetals have stepped up a gear and removed all vehicles from the rails over to the breakage area,which is not visible at certain point nor is their site to the public eye

Possibly the next run after being robbed of useful parts?

I remember 5904 (and 5711) particularly well as they were the first "refurbished" units out from Bombardier Ashford (old Chart Leacon works) and they carried black cab window surrounds for a time.

2x ROG cl37’s + 2 barrier vehicles.

If it was 5868 it would run from Litchurch Lane and not Derby RTC and would require to run under a 5Q headcode as 455’s are route restricted between Derby and the Southern region boundary.

What are the barriers and 37s going to be used for? I don't see any paths out of Wimbledon depot in the next few days

There's quite a few issues with that unit even before the apparently bogie issues. Wasn't the best choice for the special livery it seems but hey ho, its was nice to see at TGG and had a good run.

I'd have thought it would have been the very last 455 in service but with all reports internally, it seems it is destined for the can.

What issues? I don’t recall any problems post overhaul bar graffiti and a bird getting stuck in the H Frame and getting a bit frazzled. A hundred thousand miles later, one of the motor axles had a failed suspension tube and the complete bogie was swapped as it was quicker than waiting for a replacement wheelset. If there were bogie issues it wouldn’t be fit to run up to Derby?

It was the only choice at the time as it was supposed to be the last C4 overhaul. As it turned out the 455s survived a bit longer and a few more C4s were done so most are being withdrawn now as the C6 overhaul is due.

The MA was repaired. It’s only problem really is it needs a C6 which as the 455s are being replaced, it won’t get.

Oh and someone for reasons unknown left their bicycle on the ground at a level crossing and it ran it over!
