Believe that these are a couple of cars from 730201...

For anyone low on phone battery I can recommend sitting in the first class section of the pendolino for half an hour. The charging points and WiFi both work.
The chargers in the HydroFLEX also work.

A distant mobile phone shot from Pride Parkway shows 66314+69009 but with 57303 visible in platform 4. In platform 2 are 33029+33025 tailed by 47832 I think. Moments earlier, Grand Central 180108 flew down platform 1..

Bus and coaches at rest, parked in Derby, having brought enthusiasts from around the country to the Greatest Gathering.

Bit late in the day I know, but I now, unfortunately, have three tickets available for tomorrow (3rd August). They are available at no cost, just a donation to the Epilepsy Society, if possible, using the following link: https://epilepsysociety.org.uk/get-involved/donate, for hopefully the full face value (for the tickets you will use). If only one or two of the tickets are required then that is not a problem, I will send all three anyway. First to respond gets them.

Enjoyed today, joined the the queue around 8:50 and in by 9:30, lots to see, I didn’t think the steam train was worth it, the class 345 was good, shame the hymek was shoved in hiding and hard to see.

I was seriously of the mind that this would end up being a s***-show with far too many exhibits to fit in the space available and likely all of them buffer-to-buffer. Pictures taken yesterday furthered my concern. And today I was proven wrong - most items had been spaced out and arguably there was room for a few more. Possibly that space would have been eaten up by the EMR no-shows and the inbound 730 and 37 this evening.

As an aside: how difficult can it be to get a 222 that is supposedly non-operational right now, and a 158 that doesn’t seem to have been used since it was refurbed, from Etches Park to Litchurch Lane (maybe an excuse for the absence of the 170 if they’re short of units)? Very difficult it seems. So sad it was the locals that let the side down.

I must say, I read comments like this, and wonder why these events are laid on in the first place (and also wonder who is paying for it, I’d be staggered if ticket prices cover the full cost).

Seemingly catering for an incredibly niche audience who are determined never to be satisfied anyway.

the complaints begin! The class 91's aren't lined up either or the 37's.

Agreed.

Whatever rhyme or reason there was to where items were located is not very obvious. You could wander around for hours before happening to look in a new corner and find something you had missed. I eventually found Locomotion next to the new-build BR Class 3 tank. The L&Y dynamometer car and another LMS coach are behind a fence. I got this non-ideal picture by holding my camera above the top of the fence.

Roof components for one carriage on 345 071; there's several half complete bodyshells by the fence at the SW corner of the site as well, which will be photographable to anyone who wants to walk that far down the road.

Hello all, due to some personal issues, 2 out of 4 of our group had cancelled for tomorrow, not looking to profit so given them off for 30 quit each.

Will acept lower offers if nobody takes them as its just money down the drain if I cant sell them

Pm if interested, will delete once they are gone
If you still happen to have a ticket for sale, I can pay. Unfortunately I can't PM you though due to my low post count.

I thought it was generally well organised. We had a sling and pram for our little one and most areas were easily accessible. We arrived at 1000 and were in by 1020.

The test track ride was a novelty; my daughter’s first train ride at 3 months old, and on non-public track too. 8-)

Fantastic event, excellently run including Derby Station. Well done anyone on here reading it involved. Not sure I saw everything but saw everything I wanted to, the site was vast.

Phwoarrrrr mate!!! :D
By far one of the best railway events ive ever been to! So much to see i barely had enough time to cram it all in (entered just after 11am). Almost everything went incredibly well bar one queue for a loco that i eventually gave up on after 20 minutes of waiting. Aside from this very minor setback i saw all the other locos i wanted including a spectauclar footplate visit to Tornado (fantastic crew onboard!) The Model was also a highlight for me, absolute madness with all the stalls available!

10/10 cant wait to do it all again next year (jk) Hahaha:lol:

I had a fantastic time there today and great weather too. I thought it was all very well organised. After reading reports yesterday about the queues I decided to leave home an hour earlier than planned and get a bus at 7am. I arrived just after 9 to find no queues at the bag check and ticket inspection and I joined the long queue in the holding area thinking I may get in before 1030. To my amazement the queue started moving at around 0920 and I was in by 0930.

Everyone seemed to be very well behaved and it was lovely to see so many families there with young children. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere there all day. The only criticism I would have as others said yesterday was the general lack of seating. Getting around such a huge site was very tiring and there were lots of elderly people there. Except for by the food stalls, where people were sitting eating, there was nowhere to sit down. My legs are aching now so I hope I am ok tomorrow. At an event like this I keep walking and forget that I am getting older! A fantastic event which I felt privileged to be at, and an event which will probably never be repeated on this scale in my lifetime.

What a bloody brilliant day out that was!

Incredibly well organised from start to finish, top quality exhibits, loads of enthusiasm and a brilliant atmosphere. Wish I was going back tomorrow!

Locomotion is stood inside by the doors into G Shop I believe, next to newbuild 3MT 82045 and close to where a brass band started to play

Is the "Mobility Theatre" seated or standing? During my visit tomorrow I might plan a stay there if it's seated.

If anyone happen to have a spare ticket for tomorrow, could you please message me? It's just so I can find the missing locos especially the steam trains.
Can pay face value for 1 ticket

Just on my way home, thought it was really brilliant. Great to see all ages there, and a pretty diverse crowd generally. My only criticism would be that some more labelling of exhibits would have added to my enjoyment. But a very minor point. Really excellently organised. Ran out of time after a slightly delayed arrival, almost too much to see!
