Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.
From the other (wrong ;) ) thread, an NSE liveried 4-PEP at Clapham Junction. Well that's what I asked Gemini for.

Following some very specific tweaks to remove the obvious issues I got this...

Back to the virtual drawing board then.

Love this one. Interesting 3 doors per side. As per the real PEP I think

The station in the bottom picture borrows from Edinburgh Waverley with Platform 21 near Platform 6 (ok, not quite, but Waverley does have some strange numbers next to each other because of all the bays in the main island).

@Sun Chariot latest offering evokes images of the third rail EMUs snaking in and out of London. A lot of Selective Door Operation needed to platform that though (unless they just use it on Edinburgh to York services, possibly Preston platforms 3 and 4, Bristol Temple Meads (by combining platforms) and MAYBE platform 1 at Euston)

The Scotrail Enviro 100 was not showing last time I viewed this thread. That is brilliant. I like that the passenger door has been maintained. All it needs now is to have road wheels as well as the railway wheels and rural lines are sorted.

You beat me to it! :D

@Rick1984 - that Enviro makes me think of what might have been, if British Rail RTC's Leyland Experimental Vehicle (LEV) had been a success...

The flip side - attached is one of the many "monster DMU formations" it generated, before I saw a result of plausible length...
That junction makes no sense whatsoever! AIs often seem to assume trains are typically very long, probably due to US influence.

A modern pacer! At least it has bogies, so should be a better ride and less noisy on tight curves. The low floor is a challenge though. While there are no doubt substandard platforms at minor stops on rural lines, this wouldn't match 3ft platforms elsewhere unless the typical 'kneeling' suspension on buses was adapted to raise and lower the entire vehicle to match the particular station.

A closer inspection also reveals seats behind the doors. That would please people who like seats and constrict capacity in equal measure. A great plan.

I am surprised no one has suggested adjustable suspension to solve level boarding. As you say, buses have been doing it for years.

I recall reading on Twitter that the idea was mentioned in a Transport Select Committee meeting discussing level boarding! It's clearly not at all realistic on lengthy mainline trains where it would add a lot of complexity, and add to dwell time, but it might be an option in certain niches for very light operation on branch lines. MOB gauge-changing trains used on the Golden Pass route in Switzerland also change height when they switch between metre and standard gauge to better match the platforms.

After @Sun Chariot suggested a class 66 in Malachite, here's a very quick stab. Kind of reminds me of Bulleid's Leader!

This 156 in Northern Rail dark blue (early 1990s) only looks like a 156 if you squint really hard :D and the track seems to "grow" a rail as the line curves away round the viaduct.

Looks not entirely unlike one of those Thai class 158 units in terms of appearance and livery, albeit one carriage too long.

As someone who is fascinated by the historic reasons for provision of unusual elements in viaducts, the latticework section suggests something more important for those two arches. However, the housing suggests that there was limited space for anything to pass under them. There is also a curious third floor to the end terrace just above the "156" front carriage.

There must also be a reason why the street has been built next to back gardens with houses on the railway side, rather than having the back gardens against each other and the street run closer to the railway.

Assuming that is a school and its playing fields, there are ample bushes in which those trainspotting lads would be able to find their magazines.

AI-generated stock looks like a series of algorithmic fever dreams. Creating this stuff is addictive.. honestly I'm glad my Gemini and OpenAI accounts have daily usage limits.

That's very reminiscent of A Stock painted 1988, a precursor to LU standard house colours of red/white/blue.
Here's a Flickr photo of the A stock painted with blue-doors.

Reminds me somewhat of the New Haven's (US) Roger Williams (a six-car Budd RDC set with loco-style cabs and noses at the outer ends).

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Williams_(train):
The Roger Williams was a six-car streamlined lightweight DMU passenger train built by the Budd Company in 1956 for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. The train was based on Budd's successful RDC DMU cars. The end two cars were equipped with streamlined locomotive style cabs and noses, resembling those on the Fairbanks-Morse P-12-42 Diesel locomotives.
There's a photo of the thing on the Wikipedia page; apparently both end cars and one of the intermediates survive in preservation.

Post 224 has a link to a thread with a "what if" livery for Great British Railways: a 66 in glorious Malachite Green.
That got me thinking: perhaps there will be themed liveries - so here's the first of their British Champion theme... ;)
