Southeastern to become "the first regional integrated railway"?

In pre-privatisation BR, "train operators" operated trains crossing the regional boundaries - including the Scottish Region - without much ado despite being "integrated"...
Wasn’t part of the point of sectorisation to move away from a geographical mentality, reduce duplication of staff, and improve cross-region services?

Southern also runs on Wessex out beyond Havant and, in a very small way, on the West Coast South route on the way up to Watford Junction.
Indeed it does, but the post I was replying to was talking about Thameslink services. "Southern" branded services also run into Kent at Hastings and Ashford.

Aren't the mileages between Wokingham Junction and Reading actually from Charing Cross via Redhill, rather than Tonbridge? See below

www.railwaycodes.org.uk/elrs/elrr.shtm
www.railwaycodes.org.uk/elrs/_mileages/r/rdg2.shtm

RDG2Wokingham Junction to Reading61.72 - 68.68Charing Cross via RedhillFormerly part GRG2
The mileage to Tonbridge and beyond is via Redhill, as that was the first SE route to southeast Kent. Then a connection was made to the joint LB&SCR & SECR Oxted line to cut the corner, and finally the Sevenoaks line was built, saving further mileage.

I'm surprised SE hasn't put Southeastern stickers on their "new" 377s yet. Must be quite odd seeing half of your train home being from a rival operator.

People from NR Kent or Southeastern. Has there been any mention of NR Employees getting free travel on Southeastern services yet?

NR Wessex get it on their patch so would assume Kent will eventually.

Edit: Just watching the VOD of the all colleague call.

'no significant developments in the coming months'

Spoke about TPE and how they lost their first group travel when they went OLR.
'this has become a much wider issue than just Kent'

Sounds like they are working towards standardising it nationally

'rival' is a bit of a stretch - The travelling public don't really care what colour the train is - so long as it is clean and on time
