I'm guessing that 20 grand behind the bin was to picked up by a client (like his brother) pretty quickly, as I can't think why that's a logical place to hide that amount of cash.

Must have been a bit of a shock for the station staff to find a bag containing £20k in cash and then for the mastermind to be travelling to London...presumably in First Class of course...completely unaware of the fact that BTP would be waiting for his arrival at the other end!
Must've been quite a shock for the station staff finding a bag containing £21,000 pounds. ;)

You'd think that criminals would find better places to conceal lots of cash!

"It's exciting isn't it, breaking the rules!"

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has been banned from driving for six months, after she was caught speeding.
Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the film franchise, drove a blue Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford on the evening of 31 July last year.
Watson already had nine points on her licence before the speeding incident occurred, the court heard.
The 35-year-old, now a student, was made to pay a total of £1,044 at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
She did not attend the five-minute hearing. Representatives for Watson have been approached for comment.
Watson's lawyer, Mark Haslam, told the court that she is a student, adding: "She is in a position to pay the fine."
The actress has been studying a master's degree in creative writing at the University of Oxford since 2023.
Watson shot to fame in 2001 with the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, alongside fellow child stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
She starred in eight Potter films in total, with the last being released in 2011, before going on to appear in movies such as Beauty and the Beast, The Bling Ring and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Watson's last film role was in the 2019 remake of Little Women, directed by Greta Gerwig. She launched her own sustainable gin brand with her brother in 2023.
A new TV adaptation of JK Rowling's Harry Potter books is currently in production, starring Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione and Alastair Stout as Ron.
John Lithgow has been cast as Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.
The series, being produced by HBO, is expected to take a decade to complete.

Well this CEO is no longer in paradise:

What was meant to be a lighthearted moment during Coldplay’s Wednesday night concert turned into a full blown public relations disaster for a high flying tech CEO and the footage is nothing short of mortifying.

During the band’s performance at Gillette Stadium in Boston frontman Chris Martin decided to spice up the crowd with the classic kiss cam. But what happened next left the audience gasping the internet spiraling and one billion dollar CEO potentially facing a career ending scandal.

“Oh Look at These Two” A Kiss Cam Catastrophe

As the camera panned across the thousands of fans in attendance, it suddenly landed on Andy Byron, the married CEO of Astronomer, a software development firm reportedly valued at over $1 billion, and his Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot.

The pair looked cozy, too cozy. Byron had his arms wrapped around Cabot, who leaned in closely, smiling, but as soon as they noticed themselves on Coldplay’s kiss cam, they panicked and made the situation much worse. Byron let go immediately, ducking behind a barrier like a man caught red-handed, while Cabot buried her face in her hands, visibly flustered.

Officer who delivered baby escorts her to prom
BBC News, Suffolk
A police officer who stepped in to deliver a baby was able to deliver her to her school prom 17 years later.
PC Jonathan Burke was working as a Suffolk Police community support officer when he was suddenly approached in Ixworth High Street, in Bury St Edmunds, by a man asking for help.
He came to learn the man's wife was in labour and he successfully helped deliver their baby girl called Evie.
The family and officer stayed in touch, with PC Burke recently escorting Evie to her King Edward IV Upper prom, which she said was "quite an entrance".
"I was thinking this must be a wind up and I thought he wasn't looking at me, but he was," PC Burke said of the moment Evie's father, David Fitt, came rushing over asking for help.
"I went into survival mode. I was only 21 at the time.
"It was too late to get to hospital and it all happened in the back of Sarah and David's car in the middle of Ixworth High Street."

I expect some of the students would have done a runner if he was still wearing his uniform! :D

I wonder what this animal's Baaaaa-ker atlas (yes, I know that joke only works written down) looks like? (Link here)
A former Royal Marine who was spotted with a lamb on a lead at a railway station in Renfrewshire has told the BBC: "It may be odd but it's not wrong."

Jai Gibson was captured on CCTV walking the sheep at Paisley Gilmour Street station on Monday evening.

The image sparked a number of commuters to publish on social media about their encounters with the 61-year-old and his woolly companion.

ScotRail said there is nothing to say sheep are not allowed on trains and the animal complied with its rules that pets should be on a lead.
Has anybody seen any similarly odd animals on their travels?

I was walking through London at 4am with someone I'd met maybe 2 hours earlier. We were about to go our separate ways when he shouted over to somebody he recognised. That person happened to be taking her parrot for a walk (well, she was walking, the parrot was zipped up warm in her jacket. "Say hello Sebastian.", she told the parrot. "Hello Sebastian!", the parrot cried. Apparently Sebastian goes for a 'walk' every day.

Does the parrot get a bit peckish in the small hours?

There was once on offer on Calmac sailings from the islands to the mainland. Aimed at farmers going to markets, where people with livestock got a special rate. Cue islanders taking a single sheep in their cars on the ferry to Oban to do their normal shopping / business.

It was a few years ago, I don't have the details, it made the headlines at the time.

I guess the person who came up with that offer felt a little sheepish when they saw how people flocked to take advantage.

All these sheep jokes have me wanting to cry out, "Oh, vine !" -- and for relief, drink copiously of the fermented fruit thereof...

What's kinda funny about it is they might have gotten away with it had he not reacted the way he did to the kiss cam. A quick kiss and it's possibly nobody would even have batted an eyelid. I'd certainly never heard of him or his company before all this!

Speaking of animals, someone in my area Wallasey (& it's not me, honest) has been dressing up in a cat suit & prowling around, which seems like someone on a wind up

A mystery figure dressed in a large black cat costume has been seen prowling secluded areas close to a beach.
The bizarre sightings have prompted a flurry of comments and photographs posted on Facebook by residents living near Wallasey beach in Wirral.
A video posted on the website showed car passengers screaming as the figure was seen approaching close to their vehicle.
Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell said she hoped anyone with concerns would report them to the police.
One Facebook user posted: "Was walking my dog tonight and heard a man making cat noises, shone a torch he was waving his arms at me before crawling up the hill. Never been so scared."
Another told the BBC how she was out for a dog walk when she noticed something strange.
A picture taken from the inside of a car which spots a man running in front of the car in a black cat suit. His arms are raised and is running fast. The headlights of the car illuminate the man in the dark night.

A video shot at night captured the figure through the window of a car
The woman said: "I drove down to the coast by the Harvester pub to walk my dog and as soon as I was away from the street lights I began to hear a feline growling to my left.
"My little terrier, Mac, started barking away at the figure, so I got my phone for light and captured a short video. A man in a panther costume then crawled up the hill on all fours.
"I didn't feel scared really, he was just waving his arms and making panther noises. I felt more confused than scared."
Another man walking his dog along the beach said he believed he knew who the figure might be and thought it was intended to be a prank.
"I don't know his name, I think it's just a wind up. He's definitely not out to frighten people, he does it for fun," he said.
"He just likes being a giant cat. He doesn't frighten our dog."
