The extra sets are a mixture of 7 and 9 car RailJets, and the 7-car sets can operate in multiple to form 14-car trains in Austria and Germany. To make space in the factory, the nightjet order will be delayed / reduced from 33 to 24, which means almost no further new nightjets will be delivered until mid 2026.
