Just got a couple of these LNR tickets from Nuneaton to Euston and Nuneaton to Lime St and on collection from the station they say 'valid on specific trains only' as you would expect but no times appear on the tickets so i suppose they could be used on any services.

I haven’t collected the tickets yet, but my confirmation email stated “same day return,off peak travel”

Yes, it's something that Raileasy/TrainSplit explicitly pointed out to LNR when they were planning the sale. We were given permission to override the route code to be less confusing for customers.

They're not fixed to any particular services.

One could imagine those responsible in the various TOCs for such fares promotions might be trying extra hard to ensure clarity and minimise confusion if they were to desire to work in a similar role as GBR consolidates such functions centrally...

I appreciate why it's been implemented in the way it has (namely the 7 day Advance Purchase requirement), but given it's essentially a discounted Off-Peak Day Return it should really be on route code 00042 (LNR & WMR ONLY.) Though I appreciate there are some Ticket Issuing Systems that will ignore the AP requirement if you do that.

Though if you think that's bad, look at a flow like Ashford International to London, which has actual Advance tickets on walk-up route codes!

Then they should have failed their accreditation, surely! WMT's Advance Purchase record is set up to apply to the ticket regardless of any restriction code set (mode=2).

The one I'm thinking of is a staff-operated TIS, so slightly less of an issue, though I now need to have a look and see what it does with the WMT promotional tickets.

After about a year Uber seems to be accepting Gift cards via Uber Money to pay for train tickets again.

I had applied an Uber gift card to my uber money account at some point in the past and forgot about it. I’ve just noticed Uber used it to pay for a ticket I booked last Saturday. Bizarrely, they also seem to have charged my card, just to immediately cancel the charge.

Has anyone tried it recently and succeeded? I’ll try it with some tickets I need to buy next week but I hope it works consistently: stacking the 5-10% Uber credit cashback with the ~5% discount on Uber gift cards via employer schemes or 20% via NX rewards like Uber used to allow would be a pretty sweet deal.

Not sure about that specific discount, but the page about the TPESTUDENT discount (50% instead of 33% off TPE advances with a 16-25 Railcard) has disappeared so it appears that removal of discounts is known about at least initially.
There is a discount code box on the main page but it does not appear to work at least with the "student" code. I suppose we will see if it is teething problems with the new supplier (I believe it's On Track Retail now) or an intentional change.

Oh dear - I bought several Transpennine Express tickets for Manchester-Lockerbie and Lockerbie-Oxenholme for a family trip in a fortnight using the Discounts for Teachers codes - and they've all vanished from my account entirely. Luckily I have the emails still from when I purchased them a month or two ago, as they have the ToD collection codes, but I imagine this could cause a lot of problems for people.

Edit: assuming the ToD codes still work and the tickets haven't been erased entirely?

Mixing deck doesn't select any fare, it's selected manually.

Southeastern have had similar Weekender tickets for many years (they were introduced in 2010), though this GA version is a bit better in that you can return on a (normal, non-BH) Monday.
