Well hopefully we hear back after Monday, I'm available for Glasgow, motherwell as there 20min commute and Edinburgh is a 40min commute. So I'm easy to go to any if the 3.
You should be close to Yoker as well.

I was March 24 as well. I was originally supposed to be at ayr and completed my mmi in April but there was no vacancies. I asked to change to Motherwell for personal reasons in June and was booked for my medical that week with a start date of 18th September. I know some people in the railway and I believe there are 12 vacancies at Motherwell to fill so would imagine it wouldn’t be too long before there’s another class
That’s interesting. Thanks for putting that up. I’m also a March 2024 applicant for the Motherwell depot. I’ve got my stage two assessments/MMI on Tuesday morning so it’s good to know there’s vacancies coming up. Just need to pass this bit now!!

I got the below, does this mean I'm getting close to getting to 1st stage testing?

Thank you for advising that you are still interested in becoming a Trainee Driver with ScotRail.

Please be advised that we have received a high volume of applications for these roles and we appreciate your continued patience throughout this process.

To continue with your application, we need you to confirm if you reside within a 45-minute commutable distance from the following locations:

Inverness
Yoker
Motherwell
Edinburgh
Glasgow area

Please confirm which of the above locations are applicable no later than by 12pm on Monday 7th July 2025.

Congrats so far!

it’s a long haul that’s for sure.
I applied in march 2024 and start in July 24th 2025.

Nothing goes quickly that’s for sure!
Just ride it out in the background.

But yes I’d imagine if your within 45 mins to the station you’ll be starting the process shortly.
congratulations mate and best of luck

aw god your not kidding especially waiting on emails coming in

perfect mate thank you for the reply

About 6 months ago I failed one of the 3 phase 2 assessments for ScotRail trainee driver. I will be eligible for a 2nd attempt in a few days. Do I have to resit all 3 assessments or just the one I failed?

I got the email today to say I passed the MMI! I haven't stopped pacing around the house in disbelief. Hoping it's not too long to wait for an email for the medical and provisional start date :D
Congratulations. I also just recieved the same news. Any ideas when the medical will take place?

Yes that’s correct.
You will sit the first stage of written type tests, if you pass (hear back within a week typically) you attended a DMI interview next.
If you pass this, you then get invited back for stage 2 tests, computer.
If you pass these (find out same day) you continue the day into the MMI last interview stage. All going well, and you pass (again week or so wait) you then get invited back for medical. If you pass that stage you’re sorted.

Just out the process now.

Hey, Congratulations! I've been placed into a reserve list so unlikely to be anytime soon for me. Still very happy but feeling somewhat deflated that I have no idea on when I could be taken . Hopefully you get something soon!

Did you get the same email about being having to reside within 45min of the 4/5 station? Have you just received an email saying you will be on reserve list?

I'm Inverness bud so there is only the one station for me. I'm only 10 mins away from it.

I believe you only had to resit the section you fail.

Thank you…Passed the computer tests and just waiting on an email to let me know how I got on with the MMI. My DMI was in April so hopefully you’re not waiting too much longer. Best of luck when it comes

Bit of a weird question guys, am thinking about getting an arm sleeve tattoo done and wondering if anyone knows if Scotrail has any policies in place for tattoos.

Cheers and good luck to everyone going through the process. I have interview tip books and a blank practice Group Burdon book if anyone wants it? Just message me with your address…
