Is this ticket definitely valid via the ECML? Its the Off-Peak Return any permitted. I am planning on returning from Kings Cross to Edinburgh and then Scotrail over to Glasgow.

I just got paranoid because my Avanti app ticket says EUS on it rather than London Terminals (LON).

Yes, “any permitted” tickets Glasgow-London are valid on many (14 map combinations) routes, including map KG at https://rgpp.iblocks.co.uk/maps which is your proposed return route.

Just to clarify, is that definitely the case when route "via York" single tickets are higher priced than the equivalent route "Any Permitted" single tickets? (Appreciate that there aren't any London to/from Glasgow route "via York" returns any more, just singles).

Yes, the existence of a higher priced fare "via York" doesn't rule out the use of that route on an "Any Permitted" ticket.

The only time where the cost of other fares comes into it is that you can also use routes permitted by cheaper geographically routed fares. For example on a London-Exeter "via Taunton" ticket you can also travel via Honiton because that route is (usually) cheaper.
