Trivia: Scenic Bus Stations

We have a scenic bus routes thread, but what are the scenic bus stations, as most bus stations are in urban areas & tend to be functional or awful, so this one has me thinking, the one St Ives has to be up there, although that's more car park than a bus station, but you have views across the bay.

Enniskillen bus station is beautifully located. Whitesands in Dumfries is quite pleasant too.

Perhaps Ryde and Yarmouth in the IOW? Whitby isn’t too bad.

Yep, its the location & views from the bus station, rather than the architectural merits of the building.

Holmfirth in West Yorkshire has to be up there - some of the stands literally overhang a burn. There's not too many bus stations which have made me go "wow", and that's certainly one. The Hard in Portsmouth, on a pleasant day, is another.

Agree with Whitesands in Dumfries, and Whitby. You can perhaps add Leven to that - if you squint you can certainly see across to the coast and promenade.

Cleckheaton also in West Yorkshire isn't exactly "scenic" but the immediate surroundings are a small park with a bit of greenery. Much nicer than the post-war concrete brutalist mess that seems to surround most bus stations.

Someone mentioned St. Ives where the bus station is currently not in use apart from turning buses. The stop has moved just up the road. attached is the view.

Perhaps not a bus station but won’t disagree that it’s a lovely place to wait for a bus.

Every day's a school day. Can't say I'd ever noticed the Swizzels factory. The "bus station" at New Mills just seems to be a couple of bus stances, located next to what's little more than a lay-by.

Ambleside bus station was quite nice before the knocked it down in the early 90s

Not a "bus station" as such... Dunoon bus stops.

Tricky one. There are a few bus stations in scenic locations but most, even in decent towns, tend to be somewhat at the a**e end of the place.

St Ives obviously, Penzance and Truro aren't too bad. Whitby is definitely good. Whalley is a good call, that's very attractive. I think Alnwick is worth a mention, all around is an attractive town. Blaenau Ffestiniog is certainly a scenic location, it is described as Station but it is a bus station. I love the idea of Craster - certainly scenic there! I can't speak for any of the Scottish ones.

Depends if you mean "scenic views from the bus station" or "scenic views of the bus station"!
Pretty much everywhere in the Hope Valley is scenic if you're facing in the right direction.

Dorking has what i would call a bus station located in front of the railway station. They do not call it that but it looks very similar to many places that are actually called bus stations. If they can call Uckfield a bus station (which is even smaller and more basic with even less bus stands) then Dorking definitely is. You get a very nice view scenic view of Box Hill from there.

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese just opposite the bus station makes for an excellent alternative to waiting in the bus shelter for the last 272 of the evening!

whilst not badged as such, the Banjo at Kingswear acts as such. Just across the water from the Pontoon at Dartmouth. However, Kingsbridge bus station IS named as such and is sweet.
