Various alterations with service groups amended to terminate/start short.Travelling to glasgow today and safe to say its chaos all over. Avanti seem to be cancelling every other trains to and from london. Dunno how bad its been for london northwestern?
It wasn’t the same set. The set that were run through are on the line between Bletchley High Level and Denbigh Hall South. The exact same set of points at Denbigh hall were ran through by a track machine during last night's engineering possession. Points were secured in normal and a further assessment was required, but not sure if that was actually undertaken.

There's also now damage to the overhead wires between Preston and Lancaster, compounding earlier disruption to Anglo-Scottish workings.
If 350 370 was the unit derailed (not obvious from the pictures), WMT will want it back in service, or a substitute. That'll be the last we see of that 350, can't see the ROSCO wanting to repair it straight away if it's going to sit in storage for ages.
Quite, but the 350/2s are due off lease soon.If 350 370 was the unit derailed (not obvious from the pictures), WMT will want it back in service, or a substitute.
Thanks for the ID350 247 is the derailed unit
Fast lines are open. 2Ks being caped at Bletchley, 1Ys are all over the place. 1Us are terminating/starting from MK or Rugby. Avanti doing their standard cancel 1 Brum and 1 Manchester.
That is about mechanical reliability not ability to stay on the trackA little ironic that 350247 has a London midland golden spanner decal considering the mess it has just caused. View attachment 182691
An operational incident earlier today in the Milton Keynes Central area means some lines to / from Watford Junction are currently closed. As a result, Southern services running to / from Watford Junction will be revised to start / terminate at Shepherds Bush.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Harrow & Wealdstone and Watford Junction will not be served.
And they didn’t even bother to mention Wembley Central…Looks like Southern have thrown in the towel when they don't even operate to MK...

Its a switch diamond not a fixed diamond / crossing. Is there a diamond crossing under the front unit (looking at google maps). From the video online it looked to be heading Northbound.
No point in knocking out the Tring’s as they are unaffected.WMT is a mess. Nothing calling at MKC for ages and they dropped the MKC call from the fast Northampton relief.
Late boarding of everything causing concourse congestion.
Absolutely shocking performance. Not sure what happened to the old contingencies like dropping the Tring semi fasts and breaking the service at Northampton both of which would have helped a lot.
And once again the presence of the transverse displays caused congestion in the platform tunnel.
It will be very tight as you would normally do Ledburn to Drayton Road. Its a switch diamond not a fixed diamond / crossing.

Brum’s could be split at Northampton or spun in P2 at MKC but must be a reason why not. Can’t can all the LNRs..
Two line railway MKC to Ledburn so should be a standard service contingency in place.
Some moves might be done at Hanslope. It will be very tight as you would normally do Ledburn to Drayton
From my anecdotal evidence the past year WMT control have come on leaps and bounds from a few years ago in regards to service recovery & communicating changes (my delay repay account backs this up), but I agree today was a shambles especially with the 1Ys.WMT is a mess. Nothing calling at MKC for ages and they dropped the MKC call from the fast Northampton relief.

My guess would be crewing issues preventing spinning at MK, but crews change at NMP so no excuse thereBrum’s could be split at Northampton or spun in P2 at MKC but must be a reason why not. Can’t can all the LNRs..
Which presumably explains why the Lowland Sleeper is leaving Euston an hour early. All line block is going to be taken tonight between 00:01 - 05:30 to re-rail the train
Situation has gotten so bad north WCML, avanti are now ferrying passengers north of preston with taxis

The location of the derailment not being a cross over between the US and DS can’t have helped either…It seems it was initially cancelled due to brake problems and hence possibly flats. Returning northwards to the depot, possibly a false flange has been created due to a wheelset locking. Hence the derailment at a set of points. Luckily it derailed to the right between the slow lines. If it had derailed to the left by the same amount shown in the photos, it would have fouled the up fast with 125mph Pendolinos hurtling through. The consequences don’t bear thinking about…. The RAIB report will be very interesting, especially regarding what checks there were regarding fitness to run following the fault that caused the service to be cancelled.
