Yes it is but I’m slightly concerned as I have lots of information and was really apologetic and clear that I’d like to settle out of court so I don’t understand what else they need. They have requested my name, address, email etc which they already have. This has been ongoing since Jan so would really like to just get it sorted.

Hi

I’m currently dealing with SWR for historical fare evasion.

I had been emailing with an investigator at SWR and sent him all the information he requested including a spreadsheet that set out all the fares etc. he then said the information was going to be passed on to the prosecutor for final decision.

Two weeks later I have now received a letter from the prosecutor which states that the letter is not a request for payment and I need to respond to the letter in 21days which requests my personal contact information etc.

Does this mean they will prosecute?
When does the 21 days expire?

This letter looks like the sort of letter that they’d send in relation to a new incident, not a long-standing ongoing investigation. Is the date that you’ve obscured covered by the existing investigations, or is it more recent?

Yes that’s what’s confused me. The letter is the same date from Jan.

When does the 21 days expire?
It would expire mid July. 6 month would be the end of July. Should I respond now or wait?

I would be inclined to email the investigator that you have been dealing with, and (very) politely ask if the latest letter is in relation to the investigation he has been dealing with, and if so you are a bit confused, as you believe you have already provided all that information.

Hello @led210 I'm wondering where your case got to?

I'm asking as a family member of mine is going through a similar situation with SWR. She got caught at Waterloo(or Vauxhall) by a revenue protection officer for short faring; however, admits having done this multiple times before. Having read the forums here, there is every reason to assume Trainline will provide the prosecution with details of previous history of trips.

She's very regretful, and feeling silly and very anxious about the whole thing, and would definitely want to settle this out of court. This happened just under two weeks ago so no communications from the investigation team yet.

I'm wondering how you got on with your case?

Thanks in advance.
