Leicestershire And Derbyshire Yeomanry. I was on the Grampian Highlander railtour (RESL) November 16th 1984 where it exhibited thrash substituting for D200/40123 and was withdrawn immediately after. So its last ever working.

D60/45 022 was also my favourite Peak, as she was also my first recorded haulage by the class....from Glasgow Central to Carlisle via Dumfries - also in 1972. As a long-standing Holbeck (55A) stalwart, she could be found anywhere from Glasgow or Edinburgh to Leeds and on to the West Country. She will be particularly remembered for having worked the last up Waverley route sleeper - and last passenger service over the line - on 6th January 1969 - from Edinburgh as far as Leeds....with lengthy delays at Hawick - due to a bomb scare - and again at Newcastleton - where the local minister had padlocked himself to the crossing gates in protest against the closure of the line.

However, none of this explains the naming policy and is therefore somewhat OT. Apologies to the mods!

I bought three Bachmann sales area exclusive sealed-beam 45/0s, plus Railtec transfers, so I can model each "TI rose" - black, white and red.

47645 (Robert F. Fairlie Locomotive Engineer) was known as RaFFLE.

We knew 47484 as Ikky-Bru up in Scotland, broadly based on Irn Bru (our other national drink!) I think.
47710 was known as 'Wally' and 47711 was also known just as 'Boaby', pejoratively, as it is also Scottish slang word for the male member!
I won't share what 47712 was known as, in case of offence!
