Nice one. Good shots in what looks like challenging weather conditions.
It's been years since I enjoyed an air show (RNAS Yeovilton in 2013 and Eastbourne "Airbourne" a few years prior).
Saturday 21-June we had a formation of 6 WW2 era aircraft fly over Portsmouth area - likely for Armed Forces Day. They were a bit too far away from me, to see what they were; but their engines sounded like Spirfires.

Great photos, thanks!

I too was at Cosford on the 8th. (My first ever air show!). I managed to get a spot near the runway fence. Main surprise was how much closer the action was than I expected it to be. Watching aerobatics on TV or youtube is fine, but nothing prepares you for seeing it all play out in three dimensions in front of you, at such speed and accuracy, and with such wonderful noise. (I had ear defenders on during the F35 and it was still deafening!)

On a railway note, I thought the arrangements at Cosford station were very well handled, with extra services calling and lots of marshalling. Altogether a great day out!

Spitfire, Hurricane and P51 Mustang fighters, the Lancaster bomber and some other WW2 aircraft were all Rolls-Royce Merlin-powered (a US licence built version in the case of the Mustang), so tend to sound similar.

(I live relatively close to the Duxford museum, so get to hear some of them if they fly my way)
