Going to two Liverpool/Euston trains an hour will certainly help, when it happens. But I still foresee First Class being oversubscribed on popular services formed by a Class 807!

First Class useage is fairly down I understand, not helped by:
- essentially doubled fares
- Standard Premium offering
- reduced First Class seating
- poorer catering offer
- more employers banning First Class travel on expenses or even employees paying the difference themselves
It's been discussed in a few threads in the past couple of years. Certainly given the greater % of leisure travellers vs business travellers, I think Standard Premium is more popular but one could argue would that be the case if it didn't exist?

I would agree, to some extent; However, yesterday I sat in Standard Premium rather than First Class because the latter was so busy! There is quite a difference in First Class seating availability between the 807s and the 390s, even with the latter's progressive reduction in First Class areas.

I think perception plays a part, First Class is now normally just 1.5 or 0.5 of a coach on 390s, under Virgin it was originally 3.5 coaches worth. With so little space now, especially at weekends, it would seem busier even if there are fewer users overall.

Can see why it didn’t get delivered last week then.
It must of been ready as they wouldn’t have planned for it to leave, including the hiring of a Gbrf loco to travel to Darlington to collect it to start its testing. Obviously a fault occurred.

Fantastic livery compared to standard Avanti, one of the blandest post-privatisation colour schemes.
You need to ask Hitachi or Gbrf that question.
But I think the clue is the unit is still at aycliffe spending time on test track and under going static tests etc

Travelled on one today from lime st to Euston
pleasant, but crush loaded from Crewe
when is the full half hourly option starting
also bemused by announcements re stopping patterns… says stopping at Liverpool SP…. Tho obviously went straight through
no reservations either

I've been checking the news - however, I cannot find any reports of any paint factories suffering an explosion, but there must have been one...?
A path is in for a loco to move to Merchant Park on Tuesday.
Presumably to move 807010 for a night of testing prior to delivery to Wembley. (Can’t see any paths in system for delivery as yet)

Can’t be 807010 as there’s no path in for it from York/Darlington
As I wrote in my post!
The delivery path would be Wednesday which means it may not yet of been processed into the system!!
