Is this a 'from' £10 do you know?TFW doing weekend 1st class upgrades for £10 no matter the journey length on Weekends from now until 31st of August. You can upgrade on board or with Seatfrog.
Obviously if you’re doing one of the long Mk4 journeys this is an excellent deal.
Cheers, I'll add my planned journeys to SeatFrog later and see what the score is!Yes, it is "from" £10.
Yes, it is. I’ll update my post accordingly. Is this a 'from' £10 do you know?

Some confusion coming from TfW themselves. In the promotion email they've sent, it says "Make it First Class with First Class upgrades starting from just £10 between 14th June - 31st August."Yes, it is "from" £10.
I think that’s where I got confused when originally posting too. Some confusion coming from TfW themselves. In the promotion email they've sent, it says "Make it First Class with First Class upgrades starting from just £10 between 14th June - 31st August."
but also
"Want a weekend treat? Every weekend until 31st August all First Class upgrades will be £10, no matter the journey length. You can upgrade on-board or before your journey with Seatfrog on applicable services."
Flat rate £10 would be excellent value but glad if anyone could try it out and confirm.

Offer applies on weekends only. Manchester - Cardiff on next next Sunday only lets you "Buy upgrade" directly for £10. However the £3 Seatfrog fee does still apply, so you might as well just upgrade onboard. Not sure about on the train, but they mention £10 no matter the length including SeatFrog in that quote.
Well, here's the result of trying to upgrade a North Wales coastal journey on Monday at 2039, which is a TfW service:

So that's £20 for a guaranteed upgrade, or bid at £12 and hope you're the highest bidder for that seat.
In any case, not £10.
Also with Seatfrog, ther's a £3 booking charge per seat.

So had I, and although the SWR website does mention it it doesn't appear to say which destinations are covered by Secret Fares. Looking on the Seatfrog app on my phone, it would appear to be journeys between Waterloo and any destination west or south of Basingstoke (including Micheldever, Whitchurch and Overton) and anywhere south of Haslemere on the Portsmouth Direct Line.I had missed that SWR has joined Seatfrog's Secret Fare scheme

Indeed, GA has also recently started offering Secret Fares but I can't find any reference to it on the GA website. That seems to be the secret fare price rather than a first class upgrade. Not brilliant value in some cases, given that e.g. the Greater Anglia-only off-peak day return is £18.30 with a railcard.
That took me straight to the old Tommy Cooper joke - "I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day, but I couldn't find any."GA has also recently started offering Secret Fares but I can't find any reference to it on the GA website.
Forum site will happily sell them, and has since this morningI tried searching for some Crewe to Euston tickets at these fares, and I'm not seeing them, but then I saw the message "Some users may not be able to see our fares just yet" so I guess that's why.
I checked LNR's site again and they appeared this time. Not sure what I did differently.Forum site will happily sell them, and has since this morning

TrainSplit and the forum ticketing site will sell this promo fare.Railcard discount can be added, so Crewe to London is just £16.65 return, great value!
It says the promo fare is available on all online retailers. However, I can't find the fare on LNER, trainpal, etc
Online retailers where the promo is available:
WMT, Avanti, Uber, Trainline (and I assume other Trainline based TOC platforms too)
While it is not available on:
LNER, Trainpal, Trip
I will raise the issue with some of these retailers to see if they can fix it...
I am going to renew my railcardTrainSplit and the forum ticketing site will sell this promo fare.
The retailer you use for your Railcard needn't be the one you buy tickets from, though. In any case, I only mentioned it to try and help make the list more complete!I am going to renew my railcard
Trainpal and Trip are doing a discount for railcard and that's why I want to stick with one of them
